Any suggestions on good websites to purchase from? Or should I just hit up amazon?

Join up with rightstuf.com as a gotanime member and enjoy weekly specials up to 50% off. This is where I do 95% of my shopping.
Deepdiscountdvd and digitaleyes are good for "standard" low prices.

I don't get the discount...best buy sells for the same price...now if they did big discounts on box sets then ya...but as singles best buy is about the same it looks like... =/
Of course im talkin about common anime stuff being same price...while discount has some anime BB would prob not sell..Just saw that the price is about the same...
I get all mine through a local retailer (http://www.odyssey-anime.com/) who I've gamed with for more than a decade. He gets it all through Right Stuf however. Nice thing is that Right Stuf moved to their new location 6 blocks from my house!! Im so happy. :-p :love
I only buy anime if it is REALLY good, otherwise I just download it for free.
I go to a local place (http://www.tatescomics.com/) too. If I don't support this stuff, who will?

I'm just looking for a few specific titles for christmas presents, Inu Yasha Season 1 and Pretear box set. I guess I could look up a local place, bound to have a couple in h town.

sundevil has Inuyasha part 1 (and every other inuyasha you could wish for) on this page i think. (looks like 24 dollars for the first set)

and

Pretear is 19 at Digitaleyes. Inu yasha first season is 64.99 at deepdiscountdvd. $24 for one dvd is on the expensive side. Just the first dvd comparatively, could be gotten for 16 at overstock.com.

Just in case anyone looking at that site cares, anything they list in the "import" section is a straight-up bootleg.

I was wondring about that because I saw stuff listed there that wasnt even licensed. It would be like buying fansubs.
