ARG! Could someone help me out?

I picked up NWN earlier today. I have installed it. When I tried to play, I would just get a black screen. When I clicked, I would get a white screen, then a messed up menu. I changed my resolution to 640x480 and the colors to 256, and that let me see the opening movie. When the movie is over, I get a black screen, a novelty cursor, music, and that's it. Can anyone please give me some advice?

I got the same thing on one of my machines when i got the gat but the other machine ran just fine. What I found out was I didnt have the latest drivers for my video and sound card on the one machine. After i upgraded teh drivers to both items I was fine.

Get new drivers for your vid card, same thing happened to me, and after I paid a short visit to Mr. Nvidia, it solved my problems. [B]Click.....creeeak

I downloaded DirectX 8.1 . Could the fact that I have a VooDoo 3 be the problem? (I bet it is, dammit!)

voodoo 5 is the lowest voodoo that has a half chance of working.

You can find a nice selction of cards under 100 at best buy for a nice cheap upgrade to get ya back in the swing of things.

yeah, I had vooddo 3 2000, hehee. Card was almost 3 yrs. old. NWN said they were not supporting sdfx cards witht his game.

I got a ge force 4 420 mx for $99.00!! pretty sweet. Of course, the card I really wanted was $299.00, but that'll have to wait.

NWN runs like a dream on my new card.

If your system only has PCI for video (some older celeron systems cheaped out on MBs) you can get an ATI Radeon 7000 64mb PCI version for about $80.00 which runs the game just fine too.
