Tips for creating characters the quick way to get on a specific server: Make your character, pick city, when the screen tells you to attach it to a handle, don't click yes, hit esc, you'll be back in the main menu, go to delete characters, from there you can see which server your character got bounced to, rinse and repeat until you get on whatever you wanted to join.

Sounds good, i'm sure a lot of people, like me are still in the process of getting it. Although you don't want to wait too long because people will not want to delete their characters. unless you get one person a worldpass, then that person gets one, and you go on down the list.

I'm going to suggest that you outlying players on the single servers consider migrating to the fuller ones. I'm content where I am right now, but starting over still doesn't really bother me that much. I think I'm still getting a feel for how to make money and level quick. I don't know that we need an official SH server per se, just the top 3 servers would be fine.

Just looked it up. World Passes cost a base of 50 gil and vary depending on the population of the server. (It actually said 250 gil for 5, dont know if you can buy individuals or not)

I really don't see the point of world passes. Sure, it's time consuming to reroll to a server, but it's free, and people can do it on their own. If I were still in the Orc Outpost, I'd be all for it, but since I've moved on my cash flow got whacked. As far as moving servers, I doubt I'll do it now, I can't count the number of friends I have on Cerberus on 2 hands.

I went ahead and tried to reroll last night and still got Shiva 6/6 times, which seemed kind of odd to me.

Anyways, seeing as I still don't know anyone on Shiva I'd be willing to move to one of the more SH populated servers if you guys can settle on one. =)

When you guys are rerolling are you doing it at any particular time? Shiva is listed towards the top of the server list numerically which makes me think it's one of the older servers. Maybe I should be trying to reroll during japanese primetime?

I didn't really want to say "Ok everyone......HERE!" cause some people ended up on a server with a few people, and are probably getting quite comfortable where they are. IF you want to reroll, re-roll to the server you want. I'd encourage you to go to a server with more people on it. I could compare this to EQ, except EQ didn't have stupid server transition rules, so moving around was much easier.

So to answer your question, go where you want. If you want a server with peeps on it, pick on of the fuller servers, it's up to you.

5th level is quick, even for thieves. it's 7, 8, 9 that reeeeeeeally suck :P

I'm stickin with Lareine, but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep going thief with her. I got really damn frustrated last night constantly dying to stuff that was decent challenge (not even always decent challenge with high defense). even in a fight where I used perfect dodge and wasp sting right off the bat, I still died

so I'm gonna give thief another try today, but if I keep sucking with it, Lareine's going warrior. and eventually ninja

If not being able to solo decent challenges is bugging you that bad Math, you should probably just change now. At 13th level, going up against a decent challenge solo, even with charged tp and perfect dodge, is suicide. The most xp I can make solo, without some total fluke, is 36xp. Maybe that will change when we get Sneak Attack.

Most likely you wouldn't ever play with me, I play mainly with my group of friends at specific hours that agree with all our RL's, and we try nto to get too far ahead of each other.

we got our TheSafehouse linkshell up on cerberus now. think there're six or seven of us on it?

we've got a decent range of classes, though nenjin and onisin are a bit higher than the rest of us.

anyhow, I'm playing warrior, got up to 6 tonight. once I can do advanced classes I'm going either samurai or paladin.

we have urusai and creepy playing white mages, urusai eventually wanting to try bard. nadstar is black mage I think?

so if anyone else wants to get on cerberus soon, it won't be too hard to catch us really. you can get six levels in about four hours unless you die horribly a lot :P

I think its just my "Enemy Appraisal" skill is pathetic and I take on things that are to tough for me to often.

The thing is, it actually cons enemies on the basis of what their level compares to yours. The high defense, low evasion stuff is a joke. I fought a skellie that was supposed to be easy prey, low everything. I hit for tops of 7 damage(when I'm doing 16 to 20 on the stuff that cons the same) and he's whacking me for 13-16 points of damage, and his ability hit for 30.

idk, i can usually destroy a low eva low def easy while easy high def gives me a pretty good beating before i drop it. i can take evens at lvl 12 if i have 300% tp , my 2hr, and full hp/mana.

One thing I found interesting. Before today, I was always using a dagger. Things conned low/high def/eva occassionally, not all the time.

And recently, I bought a sword (Fast Blade rocks, btw) and everything, I mean EVERYTHING, even those Tiny Mandragoras and Bumblebees, conned High Defense to me. Could it be that the decent challenge, tough, etc relies on your level, and high/low cons rely on your weapon skills?

I have no solid proof, just that I have not seen even ONE mob that didn't con high defense to me when I had a sword skill 1-10. Now they are starting to con a bit normally, but the decent challenge and some easy prey still con high defense. Kerayu, Mithra Thief of Phoenix.

I'm enjoying the game a lot more once I figured out how to make it so it didn't look like ass. (1024x1024 is a must).

Also, I'm a Hume. Made it to 5th tonight, and I'm enjoying it enough that I'll keep playing. Controls were a pain to get used to though, I wish the mouse-look control was a little nicer.
