View Full Version : Crystalline silk net
A fairly common drop in the crystal caverns--two charges of ensnaring roots, a 50 damage root spell--a two-three second cast time. I'd think this would be quite a nice item to have, especially vs. druids? People sell them for 2pp on a bluebie server, it's saved my life from a snow griffon before... is there a market for these on Vallon?

As far as buying them though, they drop enough that I don't see them worth much. I could be wrong though. the main problem I think is that they don't stack, so that can fill inventory quick just for a few casts of root.

Would this be a nice newbie PK-killing device? If it does 50 damage and can be used at level 1, it'd be as good as a level 5 harm touch...

I imagine they have a minimum casting level though. I have not experimented, I just know that I can cast it ;p

This is a level 24 druid root. It's not that great. It's max duration is 1 minute 30 with chances to break on each 30 seconds.
In addition, the DD with the root counts as a nuke, and has a chance to break it. So you cast the think, check for resists. If no resist, target is rooted. DD hits. Check for unroot from DD. If target is still rooted, you're safe for 30 seconds unless char has a spell/item to unroot.
Not that any root isn't better than no root. Just that this one isn't very good. If it casted Ensnare, now...

Spend your time/money making and farming root and snare poisons. The nets are nice because they don't have to be "applied" like poisons, but on a PvP server they will be resisted 99% of the time. [b]Ceescrit Bossalini
