Made this just now, I r still shaking.

Marble Mortar and Pestle

Recipe:

1 Large Block of Magic Clay, 1 Celestial Essence, 1 Large Bowl Sketch, 1 Black Marble Powder in a pottery wheel (i THINK triv less than 200 with a geerlok).

Fire it in the Kiln with a High Quality Firing Sheet. That's it.

Black Marble Powder made using 1 Black Marble, 1 Celestial Essence, 1 Jar of Acid in the Kiln.

Giving this to my good friend Tilnoom, probably the first rogue to posess a shiny new handmade mortar

Well, the big question about it though... what is it useful for?

So far we don't have any recipes that require a 10-slot mortar&pestle, not even the advanced ones with a sketch.

I just made one without knowing Xanthe did. Was NOT trivial at 250 potting skill with a GM Trophy. Firing with HQ Firing Sheet WAS trivial.

My rogue friend is postulating that perhaps it can be used to make 10 dose items. I know nothing at all about poisoning or alchemy (just pottery and jewelcrafting and smithing and brewing and baking )
We are off to try a few combines and see what it will do. It is tradeable by the way.

I doubt this will make the 10dose poisons.. other wise there will be alot of pissed rogues out there that did the grandmaster assassin seal quest..

Used my new marble morter all night. Works great and having the 10 slots means it doesnt have to be destroyed and repurchased as much as the old one. :-)

It is still not known what this new Marble Mortar may be capable of producing, but I would assume that this container means there are new poison recipes that came out with PoP that require more than 6 ingredients, and perhaps as many as 9 or 10.

Another nice thing about this item is that it is only Weight 1.0 That helps as it is lighter than a 10 slot backpack, although the price of black marbles makes it prohibitive to replace those any time soon

The Marble Mortar and Pestle will only produce SINGLE doses of poison from up to 10 components. It's primary benefite now is the 10 slots. Until recipes are discovered using more than 6 items, it just saves having to bank, sell or destroy the old mortar when you need bag room again.

Combine these single doses in a Bone Bottle to get 5 and 10 dose potions.

Bone Bottles are summoned using the GMAS (Grandmaster Assassin Seal)

And in reply to someone else further up the thread, yes it is the same Xanthe from 'Xanthes Earring of Nature'. No, she does not have any VI contacts (shes UK based, same as me) and she was bouncing around like crazy as usual whenever she discovers something new.

The Black Marble Mortar and Pestle can be used to combine old poisons.

The coffin bottle is what is used to combined single shots of new poisons into stackable 5 and 10 charge ones. This destroys the coffin bottle, but you can then summon a new one.

The coffin bottle can also be used to create a quest component by combining 3 specific poisons.

The Marble Mortar and Pestle, being a container, can't be sold in the bazaar. However tody I saw someone selling a heap of Unifred Marble Mortar and Pestles. If you can't find a potter to make it for you, try searching for 'unfired' in the bazaar. Dunno what the triv for firing it is, but most poison makers should be able to handle it.

P.S. They were asking 2k, so it may not be the cheapest option =(
