has anyone gotten the shard from any mob (including gorangas) other than the goranga forager?

i'm quad kiting gorangas and nothing so far.

Are you just kiting random gorangas? The forager spawns at a static 3 spawn at the Loc that labrynthe listed in the other thread near the entrance to Akheva.

I've hunted gorangas tons on the other side of zone near the chieftan tree and DS entrance, and never seen a shard off one of them, although, it could be possible.

yes, the ones near DSP. not sure on whether it was a roamer or a static from tree (but does that really matter?) if one can drop it the others will be able to also. imo

I spent the last 3 days in Maiden's near DSP zone and killed everything roaming from gatherers to shamans, and some hunters to, as well as some scouts sometimes and the mobs near the chef tree (spiritsear , tribesman) and well i never got a shard :/ can anyoneelse who got this one give more info about which mob dropped it and where in the zone etc..

I've tried killing those 4 armed guys, the bats, the vampires, the gorangas, and the shrouded guys. Without seeing anything drop yet. Any help would be much appreciated as to where people are getting them to drop at.

I looted mine off a goranga looking monster. Cant say the exact name of the creature as I did not fight it.

We did this for 5hours or so and kill all the romers and the tree, and the rock, and pulled the 3 spawn from far away a few times too, and killed some 4 arm freaks(to see if they migth drop it to since 55+mobs) and nothing at all, its way rare or somthing.

I've been camping this piece of crap for DAYS now. I have talked to people who AE there and have spent over 20 hours AE'ing near the tree/rock spawns and they havent seen one drop yet. I have yet to hear of one dropping on Ayonae`Ro. This is either WAY to rare or drops are bugged imho.

i dont know whats been harder for me....Acrylia or ME. Ive spent considerable time in both (around 5 freakin days each) and have yet to see the shards from either of them. Atleast I know that shards have dropped in Acrylia on Ayonae`Ro, however...still noone mentioning getting on from ME.

Hehe cool just checking, seems every zone has a certain "hot spot" where shards are more commonly dropped. I guess ME doesnt really have one =\.

Hope this is fixed next patch, its going to be a major cluster trying to camp this one eventually.

Anyone tried clearing that house on the lake regularly? Seems that would be in line with some of the other zones on difficulty.

Personally hunted there for a few weeks and have only heard of one dropping and there are some crazy people offering HIGH amounts of pp to loot one.

Ive killed 2 seers, both didnt drop a shard they droped a mask and a 2hder for me.

I know of two people who killed seers and got a shard each tho. Scouts seem a 25 minute pop, must kill the seer on his spawn point to stop him gating.

So would say drop rate from Seer is pretty decent 50/50 in my experence, problem is he pops about every 4-5 hours of clearing scouts.

I've seen 2 drop in about 4 hours of hunting in ME. Both dropped off the Goranga Battlemaster, as well as some really kickass shoulders that were something like 15ac 10str 10sta 20mr 10cr 10fr melee classes only or something similar. We were pulling all the scouts we could near Akheva.

the 3 scout camps around ahkeva side of zone are best...we did 5 hour camp there keeping them cleared and a named popped every hour ..4 prophets and a battlemaster and all dropped a shard...the prophet has virtually 100 percent droprate

Just a comment on the battlemaster... Been camping him a bit lately and haven't seen any shards (though I did get a pair of slighted pauldrons), so I wouldn't get my hopes up. Not only is he a rare spawn, but the shoulders are his rare, and I'm assuming the shard, if he drops it, is rarer still.

oh and btw for whoever said they dont buy that the emp is out of the reach of 99.5% of the EQ population is correct...its roughly 99.6% of the eq population that wont see VT. seeing as how only about 80 people will be getting the piece from the emp for hmm, a year?

Just to confirm what a couple others have mentioned already. While camping shoulders we got 2 Battlemasters, he was 2 for 2 on dropping a shard. We also killed 1 prophet, he also dropped a shard. 100's of kills on assorted mobs over the course of 2 days and no shard drops, but 3 for 3 on rare Gorangas.

Never seen a battlemaster drop a shard until last night. He was 1-for-1. Previously (including recently) though, he was zero-for-plenty.

FTR, my guild has ST keys and we still aren't close to Emperor, in my opinion. We had members of the 1 guild on the server currently killing Emperor and perma-farming Ssra come to us and loot the shard.

i have been in maidens for 2 months trying for shard
i can kill the spawn of scouts in the valley a ways past akheva but the spawn at the loc listed by labrynth is insanely difficult to pull and kill cuz of roamers/traps
do the forager ,seer,prophets,savant spawn at just the scout camp listed by labrynth or can they pop at the other scout camps as well>?

Cleared the three "A Gorgana Scout" spawns around the rock near Dawnshroud Peaks six times today and got one "A Gorgana Seer" to spawn. The "A Gorgana Seer" dropped "A Lucid Shard".

I also got mine from "a goranga seer" which spawned in place of one of the goranga scouts at the Dawnshroud Peaks spot.

It was pretty sucky, and took me about 60 hours of keeping that spawn down.

Glad I've finished all my Shard camps... Now my bank is happy with 10 shards.

2 days in ME:
2 prohets, 1 seer=3 shards.

Had a bunch of people from the uber guilds want the shards but none were willing to trade or buy loot rights. Heck wouldn't even give the group KEI. So all 3 got the destroy key.

All dropped from exactly the same spawn point near akheva. There are three there, two close together, the third a bit further away. I was unable to singly pull the duo at lvl 60. Also tried to single by spell pull for a no go.

Pull the mobs (2) over the next hill for the least amount of adds. Do not let it gate or be prepared for a bunch of critters!

Be prepared for MT to be slowed and wiz/healers to be nuked.

Other items that dropped 2 goranga spears (OK 2HP) and a staff that looked like the burnyia leg ripper.

I see alot of people from the same guild all talking about how the Emperer will forever be unattainable by all but the most high end of guilds.

The game changes, armor, weapons, skills....all change and areas once thought "impossible except for the elite" are now on rotations with lots of guilds.

Don't buy the hype, if you get a chance for a shard, squirrel it away for possible future use if you plan on playing EQ for a long time. There may come a time when Verant changes things and VT is attainable by many. Don't be intimidated or led to believe it's a waste of your time to get the shards, it's only a ruse to con people into selling, or worse yet, GIVING those shards to the "elite" so they can by-pass the time requirement of camping for the items.

Yes it was "kinda mean". But after having been walked all over by the same uber guilds many times in the past, they will get no help from me without paying through the nose.

We have had 4-5 groups in hate when one of these guilds zoned in and said: "We are taking over Hate, All your bases belong to us"

Had groups buffed and getting into position on 60 lvl mobs to watch as a DOOD_01 snares and kites it off, running it around calling for guildies to get there.

The list goes on. I have something they want=they pay for it or they don't get it, Period.

On the other hand, if someone unafiliated wanted it they would have had it:P

Heh, my guild still has a couple dozen people bottlenecked at the ME shard. Its a real pain in the ass sometimes. But I gotta say this, I don't blame Clan Crimson for destroying those shards. You reap what you sow. If you're earned a pisspoor reputation by stomping over "smaller" people, expect them to remember it and return the favor in kind when granted the opportunity. Many .. uh .. careless 'uber' people forget that many characters are not only real people sitting behind their own computer, but people with long memories.

On the flip side, the Emp is no joke. Its not elitist hype, its the cry of pragmatics. Don't forget, 'uber' people have memories too. Whos to say one day you won't be jaunting along when guild X has killed mob Y has nice loot thats going to drop while you happen to be in the area and uber_member_29 says, "Hey, that guy is cool, he gave us a couple of ME shards, lets hook him up."

Does the 2, 3 spawn Scout camps between AR and UP spawn a named? If i had to guess I killed about 400 PH's and not one named spawn to show for it.

ME shard is not harder then any other and does drop almost every time a named spawn. The 2 easiest camps are the one straight ahead from DS zone (Seer) and the other is the two spawns a little left from AR (Battlemaster). There is another camp in middle of zone but alot of wanderes so guess need good strong group. Another one is the tree between AR and UP spawns some named I forgot but is a wiz type been there only once but spawned named two times in a row one dropped shard.

Two days ago I was helping a warrior get a belt of axgoreth at the ME-UP zone. We are about halfway done with the guy when a train to up is shouted by the same guild as depicted earlier. It went like this:

Uber dude_01: Train to UP losers move or die I dont care.
Uber dude_02: Losers to die.
Clan: And some people wonder why their guild has a bad rep.
Uber dude_03: Losers to die and I don't care either.

Uber dude_01: /tell I dont know what your problem is. At least I gave you warning.

Now do you think one of these people would even suggest that they "hook-up" someone else?

I find that highly unlikely.

On the other hand I have taken the guy down a few times since and did give the shard to people that wanted them. Just not from that particulair guild:P

I was in ME today LFG, and a lvl 60 Druid friend of mine had just killed the Seer, and he had a shard on him, and the druid sent me a tell to come loot it, which I did. I'm lvl 55 now, and unguilded, so who knows when I'll actually get some use out of it, but at least I have it out of the way.

I've got 36+ hours camping mostly the 2 3spawn camps between AR and UP and pulling
the 2 in front of AR, so 8 total scouts. We've only seen 2 named in all that time, 1 in front
of AR at the 2 spawn a battlemaster and a prophet from the 3 spawn near the rock in all that
time. We got trained while fighting the battlemaster and had to zone, someone else came and
killed it, it had a shard. The prophet dropped only a gay spear.

After 45 hours another prophet did pop for us and he droped the lucid shard. Heard the
night before the prophet spawned twice droping it each time. So the prophet was 1 for 2

The shards "can" drop off of anything, but according to parsing, and some data extracted from a VI thread, it's roughly a 1 in 1200 chance.

A few of the the named mobs: Battlemaster, Seer (not the spiritseer), Chief, Prophet, Forager.... drop the shard 4 out of 5 times.

I was lucky enough to have my Guild there helping me, we pretty much kept all Goranga camps down for almost two days (about 12-13 hours in all) before the Savant finally dropped mine. During that time I saw about 3-4 named, was bad luck. Previous to that I had lost the roll on around 10 ME shards over a period of two weeks, but I just have bad luck, hell we camped TG for 3 hours before shard dropped for me, within 15 minutes of leaving a solo wizard got 2.

Hmm...camping the shard in ME right now, and I'm a little confused by the map above.

I'm pulling the rock by the wall straight out from DSP zoneline...the Seer rock.

From the map, it looks like the Seer PH is the most south and east goranga of the three...the one NOT right up next to the rock.

But the seer popped in the place of the far NORTH star...the one right next to the rock and with his back to you if you're north of him looking south from the wall.

So is the map just a little off, or can any of those 3 scouts spawn a Seer?

For some reason I registered that statement about the Seer PH with the "Spiritseer" discussion just before it...thanks for clarifying what I was too stupid to get before...hehe.

I can absolutely confirm that the Seer spawns AT LEAST in the far north of those 3 scouts at the rock...the one with his back to you.

Whether he's the only one...I dunno, but if the others have PH's then I don't see why this one would be different.
