Story Arcs and New Contacts

I'm into the middle teens in levels now, and I'm trying to figure out how to choose contacts that will benefit my origin/archetype. My main is a natural scrapper and my alt is a magic controller. I'll sometimes see little snippets in a contact description like, "he digs science" but not often (and usually it's just regarding science hehe).

So how can I tell what kind of contact I'm accepting or story arc I'm getting into? Are there certain enemy gangs that tend to be associated with specific origins?

5th Column - Tech, Natural
Vaz - Mutation, Science
Circle of Thorns - Magic, Natural
Skulls - Natural, Tech, Science
Freaks - Tech, Natural
Outcasts - Magic, Natural
...

most often it's pretty obvious :)
