Last time something like this happened I was a rogue in EQ.

1. Log in.

2. Look for a group. Don't find a group. Can't form a pickup group because there are not enogh people LFG. I took a two week break and my SG is still stuck in the mid 20's, and thx for the level nerf grouping with them makes it worse.

2A. If so many people are whining about high level content, that would mean that there alot of high levels out there, right?
So why does a /whoall in the places they fight only return a very small list of 10-15 people 7 days a week? There should be atleast double the number of people in these zones.

3. Move to a new area to LFG. Looking at my limited options, I have one solid choice. I could go back to the area I spent the past 4 levels in, but I will be fighting mobs lower than me, its not fun since I have been there forever, I shouldnt have to go back there.

4. Repeat Step #2.

5. Once again realize I picked a class that provides a niche utility but can not be effective solo and must rely on other people to advance in the game.

6. Keep frustration in check and can only hope the bg update is not a big flop.

7. Grrrrrr.

Fortunately my super group is mostly around the same level. I'm being careful not to outlevel them, because I can side-kick, but I can't be unside-kicked.

We tend to jump onto alts a lot too, so that is kind of fun. So far I have 3 different flavors of controllers. :p

Yah at 29 with my fire blaster, i really really want to group but theres never anyone on to group. I've been in DA for the past 8 levels now, and am looking at spending at least 2 more there solo. It gets mega mega booring. But oh well, next level i can get into crey n what not so that'll provide something new at least.

The thing is even though the /who only shows like 10-15 people in the zone there are probobly 100+ in the door missions in that zone. I know alot of people are just sticking to SG groups now also. Plus the classes that you need to make your character playable are off soloing there missions in a door mish so they cant hear you .

I'm not so sure about this Freon. I think all the classes can solo, but I am curious as to which one you are referring to, if you don't mind me asking.

He's a controller, gravity/bubble. Not so much damage output, I'm sure it's possible for him to solo, I just don't think it's easily possible, heh.

Yes, It is technically possible to solo.

However, you gain XP at about 1/10th the rate as you would in a halfway decent group.

I'm an Empathy Controller, same deal here.

Had a kill 15 mission on Talos Island. Took me over 1 hour to kill 15 tsoo, which were green/grey, with an occasional blue boss or LT in the mix.

I group with a single Blaster, Scrapper, or even a tanker, and My XP is far, far better.

Ahh yes, I understand now. I have a friend that is a gravity/kinetics controller, and he also talks about the necessity of grouping. I feel fer ya Freon.

Make a scrapper bud, best solo archetype in the whole game :backstab

i think you need be able to serially dispatch oranges in order to be viable soloer. Your build (DM/reg) was declared one of most powerful scrapper sets (i play it now too for fun).

Still, i dunno if killing solo oranges can continue into your levels?

at 22 I can literally shred the banished pantheon wandering dark astoria, level 22's net 50 xp a kill, in groups of 10...

as a lethal dealing scrapper this is a wonderful opportunity for me to crank out some lovely numbers soloing...

Aye Jaesin, lethal does very well against the Banished.

Ulthien, I also concurr that DM/Regen is a powerful build. However, even at 26th level I consistently have poor performance when fighting either the Circle of Thorns, or The Banished Pantheon, probably due in part because Dark Melee is a Psionic attack, and those two groups have good Psionic resistance.

Also, I understand your question and do think that in later levels, there will be too many cross-class baddies out there (The Ritki are probably a tech/magic class, the Crey are probably a science/natural class, the Devouring Earth are probably a natrual/magic class) for my scrapper to be as effictive a soloer as he is now.

Dm Remains the most versatile attack template for solo scrappers to level 40. Coupled with the Regen line, your pretty close to unkillable as you can get.

Thats why 99% of every low level scrapper you see lately has been a XXX/regen template.

On the group side, personally i dont group outside of redeemed or my other super group. Ill help someone finish a mission, but normally wont actively seek or join random groups. Also, working 75 hours a week the last month pretty much means i have not even played more then a couple of hours a week.
