ok.

Does stealth improve?

Do the other sneak powers completely replace stealth at some point?

Why is the only way to see if my stealth if effective is to get withing pummeling range of a mob and see if it notices me?

When is the stealth check being made? I have snuck up to a mob, stood around and then they noticed me.

When do the speed increases for the higher level you get kick in?

Is mage invis superiour to rogue invis?

Is there a way to detect rogue invis other than squinting at the screen?

With the later skills, can a rogue pop in and out of pvp like a ninja?
Does people lose target with the advanced invis?

The checks are time incremental or at least they used to be. The auto max beta feature for the skills are nice, but you miss the actual learning curve. You used to be able to stealth creep up to a critter and watch your skill ding pretty rhythmically. Now you just auto max when you gain your next level.

Stealth improves with each level... I don't know if there are advanced steath skills like other skills (Stealth 2, Steath 3, etc.) as I am only level 18 at the time. Some of the elder rogues maybe able to fill you in here.

Unfortunately there is no way to detect if a mob "sees" you. Just don't do what I consistently do and try to right click/con them... It's attack in WoW. :hmph

yes there are higher levels of stealth. at stealth 2 you move at 60% of your normal speed, at stealth 3 you move at 70% of your normal speed.

I think stealth 4 will be at %80 of your normal speed .... don't know if there will be a stealth 5. I'll let you know when I get up that high :D

That's because, contrary to what we are used from EQ, there isn't a simple black/white-decision "sees me/doesn't see me" in WoW. It continually checks if you are still hidden to the mob or not.

You sneak up to a mob. If it thinks it has noticed you, it will stop and turn to face you. If you stop dead in your track then, or move backwards/sidewards (not any closer to the mob), you can usually get behind it. After a while, it will continue on it's regular pathing again. Should you move closer to the mob while it is facing you, you are almost guaranteed that it will see you and attack.

Staying behind a mob is a pretty good way to stay hidden - but watch out for mobs that stand still and then turn around! I aggroed to mobs countless times while sneaking at them from behind and they turned around and noticed me!

Does stealth improve?

Yes and no. Stealth's effectiveness against mobs/PC's scales, but very drastically. A mob your level can see you from a pretty reasonable distance. A mob 1 level higher can see you from a good bit further. 4-5+ levels over you and they can see you from pretty far off. Same goes for mobs 5 levels lower. You can pretty much sit on their head and they will not see you.

Is mage invis superiour to rogue invis?

Currently, yes. I'd take Mage invis over Rogue stealth ATM. Mage invis is undetectable by mobs (for now) and by players unless they have see invis and they can move at full speed. Especially in PvP, invis is far greater Stealth.

Not really. You cannot Stealth after you have attacked or have been attacked within 3 seconds. You can Vanish, but it's pretty flakey, especially since they don't lose you if they are already casting a spell and any DoT or re-occoruing debuff will kill Stealth.
