We've come to the decision that the best way to fix Martial Arts is to change some of the attack animations. We're probably going to supplant some of the early, long lasting kicks with shorter punches. And we'll be looking at the overall effects of all the powers in conjunction with this.
New animations do take time - but I have prioritzed these ahead of some other issues. As soon as I have better times, I'll get back to you.
I must say I'm a bit concerned; I like the look of Storm Kick and that's most likely going to be the first thing axed; I simply want it cone attacked and doublechecked for proper damage considering the length of time it takes to fire.
From Statesman's post he seems to want to change at least a couple kicks to short animation punches. I'll keep an open mind, but I'm getting the feeling in my gut and it isn't wrong terribly often. I fear Martial Arts' flash is going to be turned into a mundane looking power set instead of simply adjusting damage output with the existing animations (excepting the 2 seconds of nothing at the end of Eagle's Claw) to scale more reasonably with the rest of the power sets (I don't even care if we're still the worst damage-wise, so long as we're close to the fifth place power).
Scrappers get ten power sets instead of eleven that the others get; why not just add a Street Fighting primary power and not screw with Martial Arts too much?
