Ok so I downloaded it onto someone's computer. Now is there a way to download a song with Kazaa and have it appear in iTunes *when iTunes starts up* or am I going to have to keep hitting "add folder to library" ?

I even went so far as to tell kazaa to download songs to the iTunes music folder, nothing, still had to add folder.

I think you have to keep hitting add folder because of the way iTunes processes and catagorizes the mp3s. That's just my guess though.

Download them into the iTunes Music Library directory...

Psst... I tried that last line of my first post

I even tried changing the iTunes folder to the one Kazaa downloads to. Still nothing.

hmmm
I guess im confused then..

When I installed iTunes.. I pointed the library to work off of the F drive..

That is where my library exists. When I add music either through iTunes or Music Match or drag and drop to the F directory structure, when I launch iTunes it sees them..

What am I missing?

I dunno. Kazaa wants to go to (by default) c My Shared Folder

I told iTunes to pick that folder. Download with Kazaa, open iTunes and nothing. Add folder and there's the music. I find it to be quite evil. I shall have to poke it in the eye.

Oh well, guess I will keep tinkering with it to try and find the source of the evil that is stopping it from working.

Ok Aidden need some help here. This is the third computer I have installed iTunes on and each time I'm rolling up snake eyes.

After you install what are you doing? If you don't mind give me a step by step. I don't know what's going on but this is damn strange. The software looks to be quite good if I could just get it to work properly.

ok Apparently the problem is that the song must enter the directory via an Apple product..

This includes:

iTunes
MusicMatch ( apple Version)
The iPod

I guess because of the way I have been doing it always qualified under the above.

I contacted apple and you indeed need to manually add songs to the play list if they do not hit your system via any of the above..

Sorry about that.

*stabs Apple in the eye with a dull toothpick*

Well I guess they will just have to "Add Folder" periodically. Thanks for trying.

On a totally unrelated note. You work for Intel, yet you can't squeeze out some of the P4-EEs for the Workshop to review?

Come on, hook us up, you know Intel would love to get a positive review up where tens of thousands of people could see it. I'm sure Ruccus wouldn't mind testing one out either

Not only that, I work for Corp Demos, which means we build every demo that Intel shows anywhere inthe public..

I have seen one P4 EE chip..

it also had a custom carbonite cooling system attached to it (ok it was liquid Nitrogen), and it was clocked in excess of 5ghz...

Intel is tight on its equipment.

Besides, me providing equipment for a review of Intel product would kinda be a conflict of interest..

Just wondering, is iTunes slightly slow on the responce time when you bring it to the foreground after it's been in the background for anyone else? I usually have to wait a second after I alt-tab to it to get it to respond to input.

Filan its kind of roundabout, but one way to change the Protected AAC files to mp3's would be to burn them to cd, then rip them back to iTunes. Just a thought.

That is the best way to get AAC to mp3 unfortunatly. At least that I know of.
