Anyone else that can commiserate or found a leet solution?

I finally got a few hours to play this weekend and had downloaded the 9.0 patch during the day while mowing the lawn. When I go to install later that night, checksum decides to fubar the install because files don't match.

/sigh

After several attempts, I check the installer against the WoW downloader and the update is uncorrupted. I checked the WoW website and found I am not alone... unfortunatley none of the fixes/tests seem to work. CS is blaming it on memory configurations, though knowing better, I tried different combinations anyway. Nada.

Sooo I uninstall WoW, delete all remaining directories and registry entries, reboot and do a fresh install. Same thing- checksum error.

Hell I downloaded the patch 3 times in the small chance that the downloader wasn't detecting anything. Nada.

Anyway, not bitching or anything... I know betas have these glitches from time to time... just trying to tap the SH resource pool to see if any "fixes/workarounds" have been found. The only that appears to work is to swap files from a succesfull install, which I don't have the luxury of doing with only one computer. Rumor has it that the 8.0 patch files are corrupted (i.e. contain wrong checksum infoz) so the 9.0 patcher says "screw you haxxor!"

Nothing worse than sitting down to a Saturday night gaming session with a freshly cracked beer and a pizza on the way and stare at an installer screen all night. :lol

Again, not bitching. I've had nothing but fun in WoW to date. Just a bit frustrated trying to get this patch to install.

Update:

Last night I uninstalled everything. Deleted all folders shortcuts and installers. Downloaded everything from scratch. Worked like a charm.

It's a pain in the ass, but I think the original game download had been changed on Blizzard's end on the third push so it needed to be redownloaded.

/shrug

Game on tonight I guess.
