A little question for you guys who have been playing the game firsthand:

I've been seeing a lot of WoW stuff in 3rd person lately, and I'm wondering if this is the play format... Is there any 1st person playability at all?

Playing Lineage II, I've found that 3rd person control is great for outdoor environments and PvP, but when you cram 5-8 people into a little dungeon it absolutely sucks -- I find myself missing 1st person pretty badly on some nights.

So does anyone mind letting me in on how WoW plays? :) What are the main viewports?

There is indeed a 1st person camera position. However, it's not very good - control feels a little spacey and there are no visible bits of the player's body or equipment (in other words, when you swing in first person view, you don't see your arms/weapons lash out and hit things). However, it should be remembered this is a beta, so perhaps that may be implemented in the future.

Blizz reps have said they have plans to make first person more advanced than the current view, adding things like your hands/weapons etc. At this time FP makes me feel less precise in my position, so I tend to play in third.

Slick. Thanks for the info. :) It'll be interesting to see how things develop.
