I'll answer these three.
1. You can't, you can only raise it back up in Inns/major cities. You'll know because your character box on the top left with be flashing with a gold outline.
2. To raise it fast, try and do a solo dungeon with humanoid creatures, something like the little Digger mines in Loch Modan. Just stealth up to each guy and pick pocket him before you attack. It's a harder skill to raise in groups.
3. You can get some decent leather armor from Quests, Dungeon Drops, or find a leatherworker and work out a deal for a set of armor. The vendor's really aren't worth it after a certain level, their prices are too high and their goods really aren't that great.

1: Yes, made through alchemy.
2: Not really. Deadmines (alliance) really requires around level 18-25
3: To 'rest' in the field you absolutely have to log off, otherwise go to an Inn, it's much faster, but you should still log off.
4: Pick pocket raises auto in skill as you level.
5: Don't worry about vendor bought gear, find it or buy it out of the auction house in Ironforge(alliance) or Ogrimmar(horde)
6: Best Talent to have first is improved Sinister Strike
7: Depends on level, of course.
Lurik/Thwik thanks for the great responses just a follow up on #7 I wasnt asking for a name of a dagger was asking more which is better so lets say I have:
8-15 DPS rating 5.0
and
6-11 DPS rating 6.0
Do I want the lower one cause it has better dps ratio or the top one cause it can do 15 max damage?
Thanks,
Weapon DPS vs. damage is pretty hotly debated right now. There are several rogues who are dual-wielding maces due to the higher damage, regardless of the fact that daggers have higher DPS.
Keep in mind that Sinister Strike is A) instant and B) based on your weapon damage, not DPS. Therefore, a slow high-damage weapon will give you bigger Sin Strikes, which means you put out more damage immediately in the first couple seconds of a fight.
On the other hand, fast low-damage weapons will frequently have a better DPS. This means that if you look at the total damage done over X amount of time, the higher DPS weapon will have done more damage; the longer that X is, the higher the difference is.
So, that being said, would you rather do more damage in the first couple seconds, or more damage over a longer time? Many PvPers prefer more damage in the first couple seconds (also known as "frontload" or "alpha" damage). However, for PvE grouping against higher level mobs, longer fights mean that higher DPS weapons will beat out higher damage weapons. PvE soloing against +2/+3 mobs would benefit from higher DPS; PvE soloing against -1/-2 mobs would benefit from higher damage.
WoW has flexibility and options galore; weapon selection is another aspect of tweaking your character to suit your playstyle.

Like what was said before: don't worry about purchasing armor. You'll get it through questing and off drops. In fact, I wouldn't even look at the auction house for some unless you really need to upgrade.
afaik, the earliest dungeons start at around 20, maybe a little lower. I don't know about Alliance, but the lowest instance for Horde is Wailing Caverns, and you won't really find groups for it until your twenties.
For low-level armor, take up Skinning and Leatherworking. Seriously.
Light leather is very, very easy to get from Skinning as you kill, and even at low skill levels there's some really nice armor to be crafted. Make a few leather kits to further increase the AC and you're set. Quests will fill out the rest of your suit.
Played around with leathworking some and it seems to have promise. So there's a auction house in Ogrimmar eh? Guess since they extended the stress test I will have to go check it out.

This what I thought as well. But now I'm sitting on 225 skinning and 225 leatherworking and realize it has only cost me tons of SP and money.
Am I wearing pieces of armour I made? Yes, but I was always wearing that piece of armour someone else made beforehand. When I got the skill/components to create the piece myself, I'd do it and wear it. The AH is overrun with the good leatherworked items (nightscape headbands, hillmans/barbaric shoulders, armor patches, dusky bracers, etc.) all extremely affordable as well since there is little demand and high supply.
In retail I won't be taking leatherworking, only skinning. I'd have so much more money now if I had sold the skins I used and not bought patterns from my leatherworking trainer, not to mention the threads/salts/dyes/rarer components I've had to purchase to create the items. The fact that dragon/scorpid and turtle scales (wow, all the outer skin of a friggin animal, just like leather) are MAIL is just ridiculous and a big blow to the janky skill to begin with.
The only reason I may or may not continue in beta is to make my own fiery helmet and gauntlets of the sea, but I could easily get them cheaper (if you account for the cost of skilling up + buying the patterns) if I simply collected the materials and paid a leatherworker a small fee to combine them for me.
Well for me, having my name listed as the maker would be part of the incentive. I like how it does that.

That's why I said for low-level armor. ;> Super-high-end Leatherworking looked good but I wouldn't be sure about the time, effort, and money being worth it. Picking Leatherworking and Skinning up as soon as you create the char and get a few points is a HUGE help at lower levels tho; getting to 75 is pretty much instant and since you'll be broke at that level the essentially free armor is great.
Edit: Yeah, having the "Made By" tag is actually a big moral incentive for me. I'm wearing Made By Me green BP, green legs, and green cloak, and wielding a Made By Me green mace and a Made By Me green dagger. I love feeling self-sufficient.
the one thing you need to remember about dagger vs non dagger. is that some of your attacks require dagger only. Ambush and backstab are 2 i believe. tested it a few days ago.
this means your either going to be hotswapping weapons, not sure thats possible. or your going to be missing out on 2 very nice attacks. Ambush opening move has a big potential for massive damage. ive seen 200+ hits at level 20 with it using the level 19 store bought dagger.
the other issue to consider is how dual wield works exactly. If your secondary weapons swings independantly of the primary then your fine reguardless of weapon speed. if it doesnt, then your reducing your damage by having 2 different speed weapons equipped.
Im sure some of the more experienced rogues could answer the above questions? id like to know also.

yeah Daggers seem to be working fine for me at level 39. with all the nice Dagger special attack talents out there it's a shame to miss out on a classic Duel Dagger rogue :D
I have opening shot crit Ambushes into the 400's and 300 point backstabs.
Right now I can solo level 43-44 Naga and assorted other mobs, and take on level 36-37 Elite ogres up in Alterac. On those I tend to need to be buffed, poisoned, and maybe use a potion if I whiff an Ambush. Most of the time I end the fight at about 1/3 or 1/2 my HP.

Orcish Hunter lvl 12
pets --> Raptor & Tiger {switch off to keep both lvl'd}
I would highly recomend to all Hunters to take the skill of First Aid. This skill works amazingly during combat when your Out of Mana to heal you and your pet. Keeps down time to a minimum and keeps food in your sacks for your pets :D
I have also taken the skill of "Survival" with has proven to be very usefull indead. Nothing like Marking the enemy, haveing your pet wait by your personal fire, and then pulilng your prey to your fire, and gaining all your mana back faster to let loose a storm of arrows on it, just to be ready to take out the next opponent as soon as you drop your current victim :kroe

Also to add to that comment, First lvl of "Survival Skill" only adds spirit. Future lvl's into the skill will increase not only time of blaseing fire, but effects associated with it, such as regen of HP and Mana, and not just giving you more mana to play with =)[/quote]
Well looks like survival will be gone as a skill, and skillpoints themselves are going poof.

While I agree that ambush is the win in plenty of cases, I never use backstab. It's worthless to me.

To be fair, you have the best dagger in game available at your level.
