Yargh, just got a new motherboard (Gigabyte GA-7S74 and processor (AMD Barton 2600+), got 'em installed in my new case (X Dreamer II... early x-mas present), and now I'm getting an inaccessible boot device stop error... I figured that running the win2k setup would work to fix the problem, but then ran into a rather large stopping block: BIOS locked boot loader for my OS, seeing as how I bought the system with it...

So yeah, I now have a fuggin' AWESOME looking system that I can't do anything with because of this... is there any way that I can get everything to work properly without having to take everything out of the case and migrating it back to my old one where the old mobo is? And am I right in assuming that installing windows 2000 again will correct the situation?

As always, thanks for the help!

Sounds like the issue I had with setting up my brother's PC -

Turns out that the BIOS had gone flaky, and it prompted me to insert the disk they provided with the mobo to repair it.

You could probably also download the BIOS files from the manufacturer's website if you didn't get a disk with the mobo. (Back In Black)

Flashing the bios would be a good solution. Do you have any idea what caused the problem?

Woo! Just got it working just now, what I failed to do before installing the mobo was install compatible IDE drivers for it. However, since they weren't included on the CD, I would have run into this problem anyway. Pulled a half-nighter to fix this thing, and she runs like a dream... <insert corny joke here>
