Hi Guys,

The more attractive half of my partnership is looking to start putting together some musical compositions using Cubase.

I`m after some advice on which soundcard to get for her to get decent results.

I think the budget will be somewhere in the region of 100 GB pounds (I guess around 150 US dollars)

Anyone out there got any suggestions??

Thanks in advance

Trys

You could probably get a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS or possibly even the Platinum edition for that much. (Back In Black)
Delissandra Splitshadow - Marauder of Clan X
Grandmaster Poisoner (250), Master Potter (191), Grandmaster Lush (200)

couple questions .

Do you need audio and midi ? or just audio ?

are you using virtual instuments ?

avoid the Soundblaster for a real cubase card. the ASIO driver support is horrid and it syncs for @#%$.

Cheap Audio only card look at the Delta series by midiman
www.midiman.com
i have no idea on UK pricing. but a delta 44 is around 200 canadian, thats 150 ish US . so will fit the bill.

I have used there delta 66 many times and never had a issue.

good luck and reply if you need more info i suggest you try your local musical instrument store, not the computer store.

most computer shops know games , cubase and game card = mess.

Thanks for the advice.

As far as I know we will require both audio and midi.

Hadn`t actually thought of trying the music store for advice - good idea - I suppose it`s obvious once mentioned.

If I have any further questions I`ll post again, but for now, thanks again.
