ok... got a new PC for free (woot)... p4 1.8ghz, 512 pc800 rdram...

added a radeon 9600xt... great card for the price, imo

but I can't see my 3d ring anymore.. which makes me cry... it helps SO much on raids so I can know which mob I'm aiming at...

I did what the knowledge base said do (aka, delete my uifiles directory and UI_charatcername_servername.ini file) and still no worky

have newest set of catalyst drivers, dx9.0b.. audigy2ZS (which shouldn't make any difference)

any ideas?

FYI: my old p3 1.26ghz, 640mb pc133sdram, gf4 ti4200, works just fine with the ring... I'd hate top have to switch video cards to make it work... heh

edit: even added the "useTnL=1" line to my eqclient, no dice Veteran Kakarat Doomstalker

check in your options (within the game) and see if you have your "3d target indicator" turned on.

Check to see if there is a newer version of your UI out (if you are using a custom)
Make sure they have Targetindicator.ini & Targetindicator.tga

Heck try deleting those and repatching the.

Even though your options may say it's on. some folks have tried typing < /indicator on > and that fixed them.

hope one of those works. for ya.

I use murr's.. but a custom target of my own.. with default UI it doesn't work either

and yes, I have the option turned on.. :X

/indicator on doesn't seem to do anything for me, no message or anything

Its bugged in EQ. The patch said they fixed but they lied. Heres how I got mine working with a raedon 9600. Patch test and get the new eqgfx_dx8.dll. Save this somewhere and patch back to live. Exit the patcher and copy the saved dll back to the eq directory. Run "eqgame patchme" to bypass the patcher and you have a working target ring. Edited by: Lindianae at: 12/19/03 9:57 pm

if I don't bypass the patcher, will it overwrite the file and I have a busted ring again?

(will have to try when I get home from work this afternoon, but thanks)

Only thing that worked for me was making sure those targetting files were in the ui folder for the UI I use.

The test patch thing works, I just have to remember to copy that dll file each time before I log in.. :\

Thanks!

Hope they fix it soon

There are/were bugs with ATI cards not drawing it properly. Possibly some NVIDIA cards too? Anyway, sounds like they got it fixed (via the file from Test).

Yes. Even though the files are in the UI directory, they're technically not part of the UI structure. EQ only looks in the specified UI directory once. It doesn't fall back to the default. If you're using a custom UI, you need to put the files into that UI's directory, as that's the only place it will look for them. -------------------------
