Ok, lemme just say I know this isn't tech support line but, I was hoping you guys might have an idea of what my problem is.... until recently I've had no issues running eq at all. Then about 3 days about I started to crash every time I went from the log in to the server select (before I actually got into server select).
I've updated my video drivers, DX verison, run a virus scan, and checked my memory sticks.... short of find the disks and re-installing EQ does anyone have any other ideas?

Does it give you an error message? Do you use programs like EQ Windows, Magelo, EQPnP?
What, if any changes have you made to your PC before you started having problems?
Are you sure your internet connection is stable? I've had problems recently with crashing during server connects to FFXI because my cable provider's quality has slipped lately, and my cable often stops sending or recieving.
When is your last system restore set to? If it was before you started having problems, it's always a decent idea to try that.
Of course, if you develop consistent problems, re-installing is always the best idea. Even though the client software is supposed to check your EQ directory to match it against the files the server is running, it can miss some. Files can sometimes get deleted for no reason, because you crash or something. Re-installing is the only sure fire method for making sure you are completely and utterly update with teh game. "I see a dark sail, on the horizon. Set under a black cloud, that hides the sun. Bring me my broadsword, and clear undestanding. Bring me my cross of gold, as a talisman. Bless with a hard heart, those who surround me. Bless the women and children, who firm our hands. Put our backs to the north wind, hold fast by the river. Sweet memories to drive us on, of the motherland. Bring me my broadsword."-Jethro Tull

Do a complete file check from the EQ patch screen as well. That will do a more in depth check of all your EQ files. In my experience, anything wrong with EQ that installing would fix is fixed by complete file check. You can also rename your ini files and see if that helps.
