ipod / itunes closed system?

There is no way to play a song purchased from itunes on anything other than itunes on a pc or an ipod - is that correct?

Barring, I guess, connecting the line out to the line in on ones sound card and making an analog based recording.

There are other ways. Burn it to CD then rip it. If you have a SB Live! you can use the "What U Hear" recording feature.
