Okay, so my dad just got a new iBOOK for his school computer, and it has a super drive. I am clueless when it comes to DVD burning and compatability and was wondering if I could burn a .avi that plays in DivX to a DVD and then play it on my Playstation/Other DVD players.

Also, as the file I have is a DVD rip of a German movie in two parts, would I need to do anything to have them just flow together and nto eb seperate parts.

No you can't just do that. To make a DVD that plays on a standalone DVD player you need to author it. It also needs to be in MPEG2 format as that is what DVDs use. To author a dvd you will need a program.

Guide to making DVDs will tell you what you need to know.
