I have a feeling that my ASUS P4S333-VM is starting to die, or at least it seems that it might be chewing through sticks of memory like sticks of gum...
Would the ASUS P4S800D be a good upgrade for the price (about $75 US on Newegg), and last me as long as the 333 has (about 2.5 years in service)
Also is it worth upgrading from a P4 (~2.0 GHz as I recall) to a Pentium 4 2.8 GHz? (~$200 US)
As for current hardware, I have a SoundBlaster Live! Platinum soundcard, an ASUS GeForce FX 5200 video card, a D-link PCI ethernet card, 2 IDE hard drives, IDE CD/DVD ROM, IDE CD R/W, and a 56k modem for backup in case my DSL goes quirky. I don't think that any of these need an immediate upgrade.
Old MB and parts I have lying around (dear lord, I have so much junk, I found out as I was cleaning out boxes the other night) might become a Frankenstein's Monster of a DOS machine, so I can play old DOS games like 7th Guest (Back In Black)
