I've read through all of the talent topics and I've seen a couple people say that Murder is a useless talent. Could anyone explain why you feel that way? With the way I'm putting my points in, I can either do Murder 2/2 or add those 2 points into improved instant poison/ improved deadly poison/remorseless attacks/ruthlessness in the assasination tree. If Murder is not a very good choice then I'm leaning towards the poison talents. I plan on using poisons almost all the time, but it seems that the extra 5% chance to hit on those other skills will be of more use.
My other question is about hemorrhage. I can only find the rank 2 version of it which comes at level 46 I think. I've checked at the rogue trainer in Razor Hill and in Orgrimmar and I can't find the rank 1 hemorrhage on either of them. I would imagine it comes somewhere in the mid 30's but I don't know when or how to get it.
Hemorrhage is a Talent; you learn it by speccing down the Subtlety tree. You get it at level 1. Once you get it, it gets upgraded to levels 2 and 3 by your trainers, without you having to spend further talent points for it.
Murder helps you with *1* swing per fight...poisons, etc help with EVERY swing. Murder is good for an alpha strike build (which IMO is a very weak build) and good for sap, and that's about it. Poisons are good for every rogue in every situation.
No contest imo. :)
On the other hand, hitting or missing that Cheap Shot is very likely to determine whether you win or lose the fight; with the poor hit rates in general, any bonus is valuable. For only a 2 point investment that comes very early in the talent tree, I'd say Murder has pretty dang good potential.

I personally feel that Murder is a waste of 2 points. At most it's a 5% increase in accuracy. It's not worth the point expendature for that little a return. If I miss on an Ambush and the mob is going to total me before I can get off a Gouge or a Kidney Strike then I probably shouldn't be fighting them anyway.

For PvE, I'd agree.
But, in the matter of PvP, that's a very 'stuck very very deep inside the box' comment.
I, as well as most of the rogues I brainstormed about techniques and talents with in beta, all used the same poison combination for PvP: Cripple mainhand and mindnumb offhand. Of course, this is if you think you may be attacked or if you already have a caster target. None of the poison talents are helpful for that. If you find a melee target and you have the time to apply poisons specifically for that battle, I'd go with cripple mainhand and instant offhand.
As far as murder being used for 1 attack, I'll simply say that the 'in-combat' status doesn't work in PvP the way it does in PvE.
