Reading over quite a few posts that have given comments on this skill and stealth attack skills I was wondering if some were missing a big benefit to Smuggler's.

A couple labled the skill as useless overall BUT it's the only sneak skill I have at lvl25 that doesn't turn off during combat. Meaning I can Shanghai and Ambush as extra frontal or rear attacks through the whole fight as soon as they refresh if I want. To me this makes Smuggler's invaluable for damage.

Also whether its intended or not using any sneak skill followed up with snoop has always potentially added higher con mobs to the no see me list. Swift Sneak currently shields more than Smuggler's as far as seeing mobs when adding Snoop as a stack. From the text I always took this as intended and that snoop was an enhancement to sneaks.

Anyway some recent posts got me thinking a few people might not be aware of some benefits to Smuggler's and I didn't see any posts explaining anything to the contrary.

IF you aren't aware...to use Stealth attacks like Shangai and Ambush throughout a fight without having to reuse a sneak skill...

Start the fight however you wish but DONT use Smuggler's to get behind a mob in stealth it must be saved for after the start of the fight. Once the fight begins use Smuggler's with attack still on. Turning attack off before Smuggler's can cancel it out. It not only stays up through the current mob allowing stealth attacks but stays up through grouped mob encounters without having to reclick it.

As far as Snoop being an added benefit to sneaks has anyone else used Smuggler's or Swift Sneak THEN stacked Snoop and watched mobs that saw you suddenly not? Its worked for me countless times all the way up to red cons. Its not every mobs and most scout class mobs always see you but its helped in getting into and out of some ugly areas.

Just my two cents forgive me if its been said already and I've been preaching to the choir.

I think that's a pretty good summary and I learned a bit from it. I haven't had the opportunity to play with it much yet. Now I have a better grasp of it. I thought I wasted a combat skill initially. Now I see there's a bit more to it than that.

I use swift sneak for getting into sneak mode in combat. Tangling Strike is too useful a skill to ignore. As far as adding to sneak ability, I have never been able to sneak past anything with a ST/Snoop combo that I could not sneak past with snoop alone. It has been too long since I tried it to remember if I got the speed buff though...
