Server merger drama queens

Server mergers are a lightning rod for every drama queen with a soap box. Should be an interesting 2 months~ Every 3 days theres going to be a new:

Yeah I must say it has been interesting on the Bristlebane server. The first few days it was all "You Bristlebane people suck and our server was better" in OOC

I think its been great tho. And now that the dust has settled its been calmer.

You still run up against a few spoil sports. It was funny last night, I asked someone who was selling an Aug in OOC how much he wanted for it. He said 600k and I laughed. Boy did that set him off. I got a stream of tells from him. "If you had half a clue as to what it costs to make this Aug" and "you must be one of those stupid Bristlebane players...you all know nothing about the game" etc.

I WISH I had 600k plat and even if I did I would not pay that much for an Aug that gave me +40HP and a Fury proc

I feel your pain... being part of a world of warcraft server that was given the option to move, and taking it... when the orignal server was down everyone made alts on the server you could move to, that was mayhem. So now us "Warsongers" are getting blamed for everything that's gone wrong on bonechewer. :frown

It's going to be really interesting with Tholuxe Paell being merged into The Rathe - Tholuxe being an FFA server, and The Rathe being a rotation server.

There's already that sorta staticy-crackling feeling around the edges as we've been feeling each other out before the merge in 2 weeks. There is definitely going to be hostility amongst the Time+ guilds that are currently on The Rathe and the ones coming over from Tholuxe..

Precision Strike had come to The Rathe specifically BECAUSE of the rotation system we have in place, and worked right into the system and didn't cause any waves.

More evidence that SOE has their thumbs up their bungholes and doesn't do any research into how the community cultures on each server have built themselves up over the past 6 years.

The more reasonable merger, as we of the Rathe feel, would have been to merge Zebborux with us, since that was the server created when The Rathe & E'ci split, and has quite a number of people that understand, even HELPED CREATE, the rotation system now in place on The Rathe.

But no, we've already started seeing tensions rise between the 2 biggest Anguish raiding guilds on The Rathe and Tholuxe Paell, and we haven't even merged yet.

Server mergers are a good thing thanks~ They have a spot where they are talking about the end of your server culture as you know it: Its on SoEs board.

You guys will be fine. Your game will be reinvigorated. RS/Texvu/Qvic conflicts are a *yawn*. Pretime guilds will be better off then they know this summer because of the mergers.

What is the point of having social order without social challenge!


The ultimate rotation is that consisting of only myself but wheres the fun in that. Uncontested mobs that are ALWAYS uncontested are about as meaningful as solitaire.

I've only got two major annoyances with the server mergers.

First, Prexus has finally dropped down to a relatively normal population, and now it's going to become crowded again. Granted it could be due for a merger later on, but not now.

Secondly, I know most of the people in the top 10 on eqrankings, so it's more or less a friendly rivalry between us. After the merger, I'm going to drop around 14 places to rogues that I've never even heard of before. It doesn't really mean anything in the long run, but it still is annoying nonetheless.

I quit EQ about 8 months back, but the server I was on is now up for a merge and alot of the people still there are hoping mad. Its not that they are merging, its that they are merging and losing their name to a Green server thats been around about a year. In my opinion, the oldest server should get to keep their name, after all they have the most history attached to them. Hell, Veeshan is being destroyed in the merge. If im not mistaken, Veeshan was the first server to kill the dragons and a bunch of other things. Its just stupid that SoE is going "Well, they have more people on at peak hours"....woopdy frickin do! Im glad that more newbies are on at peak hours because you told them to go to that Green Server, but many of the older players take it as a point of pride being on a certain server.

just be happy it is all instanced for the most part in high end content, those of that were/are on the tholuxe server may not do much FFAing anymore because of it but there is a long tradition of it and some wonderful flames resulted from it, it will work out in the high end cause of instances, but there are teams of people who go around killing lots of stuff for fun so the luclin and pop guilds are gonna have to be fast, and any velious and kunark people too though those are rare anymore, there are monks that solo that stuff, the days of rotations are over for the rathe im affraid

i for one playing on "the rathe" havy spent about 35% on my 40 days played over the last year lfg and have just recently at 61 can finally solo somrthing for decent plat. I welcome the mergere and all the FFA raids it will bring with it.
