BF1942: Galactic Conquest

Looks cool as hell. Basically turns BF1942 into star wars combat.

I have the current patch for it. Very very cool. plots of nifty maps. Origionally they only had Hoth, which while enteraining, got old fast. Now they have combat on board a star destroyer, on several planets, a few space based, and they just added the battle of Mon Calamari with the old republic clone carriers as vehicles. And of course when you fight on Mon Calamari you look like General Akbar hehe.

I may toss up a server tonight. if you see the safehouse listed the password will be "muffin"

I am entirely too addicted to Battlefield mods. Galactic Conquest, Desert combat, Pirates, Parrallel worlds (it turns german tanks into giant spider walking talks hehehe) and so many more. I :heart teh BF. ;)

There's a big Star Wars mod in the works for UT2003/2004 too. It was released for 2003, but it's not quite finished, and the next release will be for 2004 with a lot of new stuff.

Not so many Total Conversion mods for UT2004 yet, but they are coming. Give it a few more months til it gets big, and we'll be good to go.

My problem is i hate paying 50 bucks for FPS's because i end up not playing them that much. BF has been selling so well they haven't dropped the price yet really but this has probably the last ***** and i will be increasing Fry's profits a small ammount on the way home tonight :p

I normally don't like paying $50 for a game either, because once i beat them I get sick of them, but the sheer amount of mods available for BF made it so I couldn't pass it up. Plus I do SO love flying apaches. ;)

Kroe, do you play on the Desert Combat BOW servers? I'll look for you, I'm a DC nut. Still trying to get to 100 kills on my fav map, Basrah night, got 89 so far the new vid card I got for RvS helped soo, soo much).

Galactic Conquest is good, I especially like no parachutes, makes the cheap captures less frequent and people have to fight instead of flying overhead and bailing onto a flag. The only map I really dislike is the Bespin map, it's a little small while hard to get to places at same time the way the spawns are laid out.

Look for Mad Jack Larking (I play the pirate mod a lot).

I normally play as kiyotee. Same handle I have pretty much everywhere but these boards hehe.

BOW servers are usually the top non Nvidia Desert Combat servers. Stands for Brotherhood of War. I like them becuase they usually have active admins, are death on cheaters and tkers, and best of all, have a rule against driving vehicles to the airports. Nothing bust my chops more in these games then running for a tank, seeing someone else get in it, then watching them run it over to a plane and switch and fly away.

Just bought BF1942 for a mere $25 here at my local import store. Installed, downloading massive patch. :)

which massive patch? there's the massive patch for BF, then the massive install for DC, teh massive install for GC, the massive install for GI Joe (hehehe) the massive patch for Pirates, then the patches to bring them all up to date hehe.
