So I woke up this morning, and while lying in bed I was looking at the rug, which is this dark blue utility rug kinda deal, and I was thinking to myself that it's maybe a little too dark? I dunno, it's not ugly or anything but maybe a tone or two lighter might bring the room up a bit.
The a little while later I broke a nail. This of course is self-explanatory, and the worst part of my day.
Then at lunch time, I went to get a Vanilla Pepsi from the fridge, but realized I only put them in an hour ago!! So they're not nearly cold enough and I had to settle on a Coke w/lemon instead. Needless to say, my entire lunch was marred by this substitution.
So here I am killing time before I go out for the afternoon, and what do I notice, but my cats have knocked over a pen/pencil thingy off an end table! There are pens all over the floor! Four pens, all of which should be sitting unobtrusively in a holder, in disarray on the (ever so slightly too-dark) carpet instead!! WTF!
How am I supposed to live this way?! With broken nails, and spilled pens, and a landlord who clearly didn't take my aesthetics in mind when decorating. I can only take comfort knowing it'll go up from here, because clearly it cannot go down. Not to claim the status of a "real professional" in any one endeavor has been a small price to pay for the many benefits and pleasures of trespassing. ~Leo Lionni
