Workin, or just an insomniac?
Or both, like me?:thumb
I work late, live in Alaska, and like to stay up. Add all those together and you can get some pretty late posts from me. As I type this, it's only 2:15am here, btw.

I mean I'm so bored, it's terrifying. I'm thinking up excuses to do work, and most of em are getting shot down my the Maintainence Control.
"can I work on the autopilot?"
No, if it breaks any more, we can't fly it in the morning
"Can I work on this plane's infra-red system, then?"
No, that plane can't have power applied to it right now
Arrrggghhhhh >.<

They were not amused :(
I did, however, find something to do for 20 minutes, and people are showing up for an early flight, so i'm not as bored anymore.
And I responed SX, but the SH was being real slow for me for a bit, couldn't send out a pm. actually, prolly sent ya like 6. Damn lag :( sorry 'bout that.

shift ends @ 6:30, Fixed one bird's radio... that's it :(
Booooooooooored :tired
Thankfully, one o' the flyers came in early, and his flight got cancelled, so he'd been chillin in here, and a couple people from other shops came over, and we've been tellin the newer foolkd about the good 'ol days of our 1st deployment together. The scandals, the booze, the people falling off the roof of the barracks.... ahh, the memories!

Sounds like you're having a good time.
We've got problems all over, nothing we f****ed up, but problems nontheless. Turning on the xenon lights of a headlight we are working on can trigger interference in the stepper motor control causing a reset / recalibration of the system. Which shouldn't happen :/ Stupid electro-magnetic intereference.
This is something we should have noticed ages ago, but it only happens for this special headlight of a certain car type because here the xenon ignition is closest to the control as compared to other headlights.

hahaha that's wierd, the radio problem was from EMI - the shield on the main line coming from the antenna had backed off about 2 inches from the connection, causing all sorts of static and bleedover problems.
Best part is, two different groups of people worked on this, and couldn't figure out what was wrong. I send one of the newest guys on my shift, and he notices it right away. /facepalm
Go experience and training!
u think ur working on a archaic system? for us new chinooks = old chinooks that got refitted... the corrosion factor on those things is amazing we got to do a full corrosion chek every 25 flight hrs.
but still not as loud as EA-6b prowlers but still loud none the less

Odd, editing the title of this thread changed the title while inside the thread, but not when viewed from outside.
Interesting!
Do you think that I would give up a thread named after me that easily?

I like cheesecake! Gimme some!
Lenilya

Simple cheesecake with cherries on top, even tho I dont eat the cherries, I just like the sauce. Ususally give the cherries to someone else.
Cheesecake also goes well with Long Island Iced Tea, for some odd reason I have yet to figure out, but enjoy reasearching immensely.
