I've been a fan of fiction and have had a few folks give me some books over the years.

Tech gadgets have been pretty cool

Maybe something that you can play with at the office.
3d puzzles

Bad Ideas: Big Mouth Billy Bass, The karaoke Deerhead, Drumset for the 3-10 year olds.

Drumset for the 3-10 year olds.

It all depends on how much you like the parents...

I bought Cthulu plushie slippers for my best friend this year - along with a Cthulu themed wall clock, bumper sticker, and wooden box with a tile top.

He loves HP Lovecraft, and already has most of the Cthulu plushies, so I had to think of something that he didn't have.

Most anything that plugs into a USB Port is cool. (With the exception of the Japanese Hello Kitty USB Vibrator. That would be kinda weird)

Erm...

I'm not great at choosing fun/weird gifts.
I'm somewhat sappy when I buy them. I only buy one gift per person because my income is very low, but I spend alot of time trying to decide what to get them.

For example, this year I bought my sister a DVD of Homeward Bound. When she was a kid, she literally rented it a dozen times. Drove me crazy.

For a friend that I've known since 4th grade (about 13 years), I bought the first season of the old TMNT cartoon. He used to be obsessed with that cartoon. Only person I ever knew that had a toy Technodrome.

I'm generally a lurker, so this kind of thing also helps out the poor smoe given the job of sending me something :P

I'm big on the techy little gadgets that do silly things (USB Coffee warmer ftw)
Anything fantasy related that is equally as silly (Axe/swords are important in this day and age)
Video games are awesome: If someone found a copy of Evil Dead: Fistful of Boomstick, I'd have ten joygasms. It would be very messy.

No nos: Bawls/gamer caffine products. I love gaming, but I suck at caffine. I have a heart condition :(

I like the spontaneity of it. I'm easy- from the goofy to the practical. Got a great novel first time around, last year I got the demotivational calendar and some geeky gadgets... all saw much :heart .

I usually give the goofy or the bizzare.

Anybody else annoyed by all those plushy Cthulhu items? The Great Lord Cthulhu will not be mocked in these ways! All bow before His Might!

P.S. I <3 Lovecraft.

But, Trolo... Cthulu can eat your feet first if you wear the slippers!

I have gotten a lot of pewter figurines (Ral Partha has far too many lovely things in the catalogue) and cobalt blue glass items over the years - so many so that I had to get a curio cabinet to display them all. Folks would see the stuff I'd bought for myself and would get me more of the same.

I could also burn down my house if I were to light all the candles I have at one time. ;)

Anything gamey or geeky or anime-ish sends me into paroxysms of joy.

Really unlikely wish: a copy of Twin Snakes for the Gamecube. It's cheap, but I can't seem to track down one, argh.

That Summer Fun Cthulhu plush Lenilya gave me a couple years back is sitting on the shelf behind me. It's for good luck =)

About the same here actually. Problem my friends usually have getting me a gift of anime though is that I probably already have it. :b

Black t-shirts with Chaotic Evil or Chaotic Good on them (http://www.offlinetshirts.com/cgi-bin/ol/all/all.cgi/blacktees?trail=&page=3&st=Black%20T-shirts)?

Yes, it's my store, I'm adding more black t-shirt options in too.

For the guy that has everything...

A nice sized hole in the head (http://www.trepanationguide.com/).

As a rogue, I'd really like this book (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1584774444/ref=cm_lm_fullview_prod_15/104-7492672-8903168?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=283155). Or this one (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0811808556/ref=cm_lm_fullview_prod_18/104-7492672-8903168?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=283155).

Walmart.com is having a 2 for $30 special with Twin Snakes as one of the ones on sale.
