Jist to update ye on whut's been going on. Ahm enjoying Halas and them barbarians! They ur some nice people and welcomed me with open arms. Ah spent most oof my day drinking with them buggers and exchaning stories frum oor travels. But ahm tired oof adventures and the dangers that lurk oot there. Garett, a barbarian shaman, who is still full oof eager to explore the world, inherited some oof ma equipment. Ah doan't need it anymore. But with the wee bit oof help ah gave him, ah huv heard frum a reliable source that he has advanced into the 10th circle. The tribunal of Halas is proud oof him, and so am ah! That lad will do jist fein oot there in this dangerous world. If ye roon into him on yer travels, say hello to him. Or ah will break yer skull!

Well, I figure here is a good a place as anywhere to announce my retirement.

After 28 levels, I decided to turn in the old dirk as it were. My roommates had stopped accompanying me in EQ awhile back, and the game had just lost its lustre.

Playing a rogue was fun, to an extent, although after riposte at level 30 I would have had nothing more to look forward to.

So I gave Delrachnid, fellow rogue and adventurer my bone dirk and my black armor, and gave the scouts guild my retirement notice.

I still plan to read the site from time to time, and Zato and Remmi are now in charge of the FAQ.

Good luck all, hope poison gets in there soon for yas.

WOW,, This is pretty pathetic when the rogues need a retirement /quit section. I came to my sences about 5 weeks ago and gave my notice that I was setting Taeldian aside. This section did not exsist then, had it maybe more poeple wouldve taken notice sooner of some of the things I mentioned in my original post which has now been said OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER.......sigh...Hope they fix the rogue class for everyone hanging in there.

It may be appropriate that my first post to the safehouse is one of retirement. I have gotten fed up with the feeling of uselessness that has been creeping up on me for the past several levels.
Why is it that a master of pirece and backstab misses more often than he hits on blue mobs? Why is it that when he does hit, he will do single digit damage more often than double digit (and forget about doing max dam)?
Since reaching Lvl.22, I have been torn between wanting to apologise to my party for the lack of help I am and praying that they don't notice and ask me to leave because I know that the chances of finding another party is pretty remote.
Rune has not been deleted, the Freeport guards have put him away for a while. He still has all his gear, except his Dragoon's Dirk was lost when a Wiz friend was retrieving his gear and picked it up (poof-lore item). However all his money was spent to buy a variety of combine weapons for my Warrior, who needed to go to Unrest. I truly believe that my Lvl. 15 Warrior, even without criticals, can outdamage my 22 Rogue.
IF sneak/hide is as good as you all say, and IF poison is worth it, and IF We get some skills to replace the USELESS ones (Pick lock, Find traps, Disarm traps) then and only then will Rune's lawyers talk to the parole board about his release. Of course, if sneake/hide is good, he may just walk out of the slammer.

My level 22 Half-Elf rogue has been shelved, either for a short period or permanentley. I finally got frustrated with all of the rogue class's problems and Verant's laziness in fixing them. I have been very patient, but I just can't take it anymore. Now we might be getting critical hits for throwing weapons. Oh joy. Another skill I will never use, and a massive money drain if I do. Instead of this, why don't they just give us what we've been asking for !? Either implement Sense & Disarm Traps and Pick Locks or give us replacements. Fix the spell "interrupted" poison bug, and make poison reliable. These are not unreasonable requests, we want only what we should have had since the beginning. Yet Brad seems to enjoy ignoring us. Rarely replying to our emails, and even then with one sentence, and never to my knowledge responding to any bulletin board posts. If they do get around to fixing us, I will gladly start playing my rogue again, perhaps even if not. I started up an Erudite Enchanter a few days ago and am already at level 7 (powerleveling to escape the low-level d00dz and twinks). I'm having alot more fun than I've ever had with my rogue and have played him almost non-stop. I still plan to read this board frequently.

Good luck to all of you who are sticking with it,

Well I'm turning in my Rogue lock picks and daggers for a pointy hat and robes.

Sorry I couldn't stick it out, but when I have friends who are running all over the map having a ball exploring new areas with impunity and I can't even cross a zone to save my life it just aint fun no more.

Look for Tuttle the Druid and on the rare occation Fiver will come out and just say Hi to everyone.

Fiver Shadowweaver weaves the shadows around himself and fades into the EQ dust. FiveFinger Discount
