Anyone else check out the first episode? the show looks promising to me. I don't know about this first sub group though, they didn't even sub the OP or ED. Not that I cared for either song, but all the same...

Not yet due to that fact...was waiting to see if another big subber picks it up first. Even if the OP/ED suxed should still sub it =/.
I'll get the raw and see how it is.

Scanned the first eps...looks promising :P.
I thought it was ok. I did not like the beginning of the NHK manga and novel, so it was pretty much to be expected that the anime can't get better than it's source without changing the whole thing. But I know I really enjoyed the later parts of NHK so I'll keep watching it.

The story is about a guy who believes there's a conspiracy to create hikkikomori that the TV channel, Welcome to NHK, is perpetuating.
Although that's a fairly minor part of the story, most of it is about a girl who is trying to convert him into a well-rounded person.

Im kinda sad about this series....kinda just seems like another generic "lets turn the otaku into a normal person" kind of anime. I dunno could be wrong and will get better.
Nah, it's pretty good. The whole "turn an otaku normal" is mostly a underlying story, or constant plot device in order for funnier and largely unrelated things to happen.
