Hullo,
I cancelled EQ last night. Lots o' reasons, but nothing to do with Rogue issues (heck, Shadowfoot was only in her twenty-second shade, so I hadn't gotten to the really tough stretch for Rogues). Basically I got tired of the time vs. fun ratio being seriously out of whack, Verant as a company, and the penalty for dying in the game. That's just all my opinion of course, and I have no desire to sway anyone in their opinions (good or bad) of EQ.
I just wanted to say that it has been a distinct pleasure to play on Rodcet Nife and to meet and talk with several of the Rogues here in-game. Rodcet has the best damn Rogue community and I'm very proud to have lucked out and played on that server. I'll miss you all, but unfortunately several of you (Wix and Igbot) have also left the game.
I'd like to thank the following, briefly. I wish I could say more.
Matteo: Thank you for the fun times with Huntress (my 35 Ranger) and for helping Shadowfoot get the Blood Spirits. That was an absolute blast!
Perdus (Sugoi): Huntress had the pleasure of Hunting High Hold with you, then watching you out-level her, only to recreate your Rogue as Perdus and then getting to Hunt with her in Firiona Vie (darn spiders!) befor you out-levelled her AGAIN! A pleasure.
Aiken: Good times, good times. Since before my High Hold days.
Wix, Igbot, Ehrynn: Though I did not group with you in-game, it was a distinct pleasure speaking with you.
Mideon: You just make me smile. That's power.
Benolas: I'll have to live EQ vicariously through you. Knowing you has almost made me feel like I've gotten the complete Rogue experience, including the *really dark* times in the past (before Evade, H&S, etc.).
Kiena: You were a darn fine guild-mate to Huntress and the times we Hunted were fun! Plus, you arranged an audience with Shar. Don't do tooooo much damage with that Gnoll Hide Lariat. *grin*
I'm *sure* I've forgotten some people, and for that I profusely apologize. Pipe up and I'll say "D'oh, how could I forget!?!".
I would also like to ask if you mind if I kept visiting the Safehouse. Though the game is gone for me, the community is not.
