It should be noted that "2.4Ghz Intel Processor" refers to the Pentium 4/Celeron D, not the Pentium M or Core series processors (which have much higher performance per gigahertz).

Dang, I was thinking I could hold off till release to buy a new computer. But if I get in beta Im gonna have a hard time making 20G room on my C drive. Thats alot of hard drive space.

I'm REALLY surprised they're maintaining a Windows 2000 minimum.

The beta client from my pre-order disk is 9 gigs. Till the game launches, dont think youll have to worry about 18-24 gigs of space.

My pre-order disks didn't come with the beta client. they came with a code to enter, presumably to download the client.

Those are pretty low requirements, the recommended are closer to what I would have expected the minimum to be.

About your pre-order disc though, I pre-ordered from EB Games and have gotten nothing. If a person buys the pre-order disc from Best Buy or wherever, does it give them access to the currently running beta or just to the upcoming beta when the rest of us not so lucky get in?

The pre-order disk you get from best buy gives you a key to get into the last 3 days of beta. Im pretty sure it says on the advertisement you get to play 3 days before release. Also supposedly (This is justa rumor i heard) if you pre-ordered from a site like EB Games they are going to send out keys after the 20th of Dec. But your only guaranteed to get a key if buy the pre-order box.

The prerelease gets you into open Beta... as to when, that's TBD.

The "3 days early" is for the live servers, not the beta servers. Us pre-orderers get to beat the release day nightmare of patching with everyone else. I'd assume a retail key will need to be consumed within a week or you get locked out.

Edit: Oh, and ^#%$ EB Games/Game Stop with sandy vaseline. Manager: "I have no idea what's up with the Vanguard pre-order boxes. You should pickup WoW and preorder Burning Crusades." That's the SECOND time the ^#%$ disregarded my inquiry about Vanguard and tried to pawn WoW off on me (I pre-ordered two months ago). Went to Best Buy across the mall... a dozen preorder boxes. Picked two up, went back to Game Stop and got a refund on my two collector box pre-orders.

Asshats.
