Sooo, just so I understand the process a little bit better. Is the game, as in the discs and boxes, already made and ready to ship and any changes made before the end of beta 5 will be put in an update? Or does the game wait to be mass produced until the game is finished the beta part. And if it is waiting. How long does it take for the factory(s) to make enough games to ship to stores...

The retail boxes may or may not be made, but to my knowledge the game has not yet gone gold. 'Going Gold' means that a master disk(s) is created on which all the retail copies will be based.

A game usually goes gold about two or three weeks before it's released. Sony will probably make the packaging beforehand, so it's a matter of making the retail disks, putting them into the completed retail boxes, then shipping them out to the stores.

There will almost certainly be a patch on launch day though, as Sigil will probably be working their collective butts off in the crunch before launch day.

If I were a betting man I would say Beta 5 will be the final code. Sigil says Vanguard will be in stores on the 16th and beta 5 starts any day now.

Expect patches when the game goes live.
