Has anyone tried a game or campaign yet using the rules for monster classes and races introduced in Savage Species to see how well the monsters can mesh with normal races?

I can see a greater need for roleplaying to explain how the group of monsters came together and more of a challenge for the players of monsters if the DM rules that peasants and normal townfolk are scared or disgusted with the monsters.

A few of the monster races abilities might be overpowering like the 3 wishes/day one of the genni races gets but the levels balance that out some.

Any enlightening experiences to share?

I have already tooled with the advanced character creation rules. Helped Jete create "Gizmo", an Intelligent Animated Sock Monkey Construct using these rules. Quite entertaining.

I love the new rules. 5 stars.

Pixies. They can fly and do a crapload of other stuff, basically dominating at a 1 inch size.

One of the main NPC's in a campaign I ran previously was a UnSeliee Sorcerer/Psion. (Dark Pixie)

During one event I had the entire party scared stiff from Ghost Sound, Dancing Lights, Prestidigatation, and Still Image.
Sometimes its more fun to do that than to just blast them with a few fireballs. Edited by: Urusai at: 4/2/03 8:08:07 am
