Among other things, buying "The Gamers" on DVD not only gives you a beautiful digital presentation of the film, but also provides a ton of extras. Plus, you get to help "The Gamers: 2nd Edition" inch just a little bit closer to reality.
(Having made the DVD, though, I'm just slightly biased!)

Ya, me too. I finally got around to trying to view it last night and it would never play. (It would before when I didnt have time to watch it all of course)
I'm not sure it's D&D... what game is it? The thief has 18 int, there's some attribute in place of wisdom, etc.

We shot the movie before the open source license for d20 really hit it big, so wrote it to be similar, but not identical, to D&D. Plus, that let us keep it from getting too technical. (Non-gamers needed some point to enter the story, after all.) We've actually found that lots of folks now use this film to show non-gamers what role-playing actually is. Thank goodness for clearing up misconceptions!

I think my favorate part is at the gate when he's hooting like a tuskin raider.
A close second is the river scene and attempt to solve the problem.

Oh ya, Another DVD to pick up when it comes out.
Love the stuff. At least three of my friends here saw my copy and had to have one of their own as well.
