I'm guessing it was seized and auctioned off by the police, who apparently did a pretty bad job of searching the vehicle first.

It'd be interesting to know how much it degraded in that time frame - it's probably pretty rare for that much mj to last unsmoked :b

40 year old weed does not turn to money very quickly. First, weed today is a million times better than weed back then--what they used to smoke, I'd use to mulch my garden. Second, weed does not age well.
Like I said--14 pounds of free compost.
