Human resources can go die in a fire. No seriously if you work for my companies HR Dept, and you some how happen to read this pour gas over you head and take a jog through a camp fire. Do all of us a favor and remove yourself from the gene pool. If you can't bring yourself to run through the flames, just pull your junk out set it on a log and hit it as hard as you can with a hammer. If you happen to be female just cauterize it shut so you can't make any progeny with your DNA. The line must stop here.

I detect Lilum has issues with HR.

In general, the HR rep's I've worked with at previous companies have been completely useless.

We cower in fear when we see one of our HR people outside of their little area on the 3rd floor...

My mom did HR for a while so I know not all HR people are stupid or useless. I live in Kansas, for the most part I work in Kansas, my check stubs get mailed to me in Kansas from a quarry with a Kansas ID number. I put in less than 80 hours working in Missouri last year. For some arcane reason the HR department paid me for most of last year out of MO. This means almost all of my state with holdings went to MO instead of Kansas. Not a big deal really I just have to file a MO state tax return then turn around and use that money to pay the state of Kansas. The big problem is that I got denied Kansas unemployment because of this. The state employee helped me out quite a bit and fixed it from their end but told me if I didn't get my company to make some changes Kansas would permanently deny my claim, and I would have to file with MO. There are two problems with this that I can see, one MO's unemployment is over $120 less per week thans Kansas'. Two, while I'm a few years short of my law degree I think it might be considered fraud to claim unemployment in a state you've never lived in and worked less than 100 hour in.

Coincidentally, I just got email telling me that the new "MyBIZ" system is now available that allows us DoD Civilians to see our files online. I jump through the hoop to get my account setup and go browsing to see what interesting things DCPDS (Defense Civilian Personnel Data System I think) has to say about me. Imagine my surprise to discover that my annual performance appraisals were never filed for the years 1992, 1994, 1995, 2004, 2006, and 2007.

Seven out of 16 years no appraisal filed. No wonder you all think government employees are the suck, we don't even get evaluated much less fired!

Its tough to figure out who is more usleess and inept Marketing or HR.

I think marketing usually wins but wow HR certainly gives them a run for there money.

This country is run by marketers. Their effectiveness is only proved by the fact that you think they're not doing anything.

As for the original post--How can I know whether or not I work in HR for your company, Lilum, when I don't know your real name or the company you work for? Such information would be very helpful in solving this conundrum. Optionally but advisedly, you might also include your home address, social security number, and whatever credit cards have the least charged to them. Thank you.

No they are actually doing nothing, its the people that work with marketing that do all the work.

Human Resources Depts are designed to do nothing. They are just there to fill out and file all the necessary paperwork that business needs to save their asses from the dumbshit that they do and how they treat their employees. It's the one dept. where they can talk about you as an employee and a person without being in any sort of trouble. They're there for people who like clerical and have no ambition in life to actually DO anything.

I stopped reading after the second sentence due to the falsehoods in this comment. All people from Kansas are stupid and useless.

Nah, I'm just kidding. You guys are all right.

After working with Qtip... he was undoubtedly a #1 concern of the HR department. I am suprised they didn't fire half of our team though.

I did ask one of our HR reps there what size her chest was. And how well she stroked (after telling me she went golfing). She was cool. And cute too.
