If I wrote "I like Pie" 100000000 times. It wouldn't describe my want for it to be up enough.... wait, yes it would. Gereint the retired CanadRoguish FencerDrunken Bandits

I would want it more if i had played nwn in the last 2 weeks. damn too many games right now.
trying to actively play:
Morrowind: making some progress on main quest and working on my own outpost.
Warcraft 3: trying to find time to play all the single player and develope some strats so i am not raped on battlenet.
AO: yes, i am still playing it, the game has improved loads over the year its been here.
Jedi 2: arrrrgghhhh!!!!
NWN: So far only 7th level rogue.
only playing NWN bus in too many modules. the characters for the safehouse will be stored serverside so I don't have to put up with godly twinked characters right?
Would twinking matter? First I don't think anyone will show up with one, and second, it's not as though we are going to go fight anything, my understanding is it's just a social lobby set up.
actually I thought it was a whole world with combat involved and everything. I'll check a few of the other threads to be sure.
edit: yup here it is
The Safehouse NWN game Sever
The Safehouse staff, in an attempt to continue its support of the MMORPG and Rogue communities will be providing a Neverwinter Nights gaming environment. We will be providing a general, persistent module that will represent a virtual Safehouse as well as weekly/monthly adventure party Modules. All attempts are being made to provide an enjoyable gaming experience in a fashion you have become accustom to from the Safehouse.
All access to the Safehouse NWN game servers will be granted to the individual by providing the individual with a server password.
Anyone wishing to participate on the servers must sign up for an account through the Safehouse NWN web server. By requiring this, we can keep tabs on those we have given access to, and keep everyone informed of updates through email and Web site posts.
We will only be allowing server vaulted characters. This means that you must create, and level up your character on the Safehouse Neverwinter Nights server. We will provide enough content to allow you to both advance your characters as well as have fun doing so. We wish to stress that this environment is being designed for fun. If you wish to grief other players, do not even bother applying.

if it was social only they wouldn't have had to do so much testing and bug fixing, i imagine
I dunno I got a module from someone ( and dman I can't believe I can't think of there name. Had a conversation for days, explained to me how merchants worked, showed me how to make shairs usable so you could sit in them grumble) that had potions that could give you lyconthropy. I imagine SX might have goteen ahold of this to turn people into werepenguins if they ate the wrong muffins. he seems evil enough to try it.
Server vaulted chars only... No twinkies.. Unless you count us DM's
There will be minimal content for leveling to start with. We will be adding to it as we go.
There will also be special events planed. Areas opened up for a quest, etc...
Yes it is social, but it is also for adventuring..
Basically to have fun
It sounds like we will be level 1 for a long time. Hope you have a merchant there so we can get something exotic like studded armor.

is it impossible for anyone else to read that poll text after you've taken it? the background is like 2 hexadecimal values different than the text...
Highlight the text so you can read it.
Not level 1, but maybe level 3-5.. Should be enough contenet to get ya there...

What you want to do doesn't matter, you won't be able to keep a server vault'd server up for more than a few hours anyway before everyone gets locked out Tarissa Doveshadow - 60 Assassin

Why is that? I seem to be locked out now. I can see that the server is running, yet I can't get in, and according to the player list no one else is on either.

Because the NWN dedicated server code is total ass!
100 meg of memory usage... insane memory leaks. Locked server vault after 5 *minutes* sometimes (requires restart) corrupted server vault characters, crashes, scripting bugs... slow down even if it doesn't crash (even slows down for LAN users), etc.
NWN = let down, though fun for a little while.

Unfortunately Tarissa is correct.
The Dedicated server code is crap..
Everyday I fight my urge to throw up my hands and give up becasue I knwo how much fun it could be. I pray that the nect server patch is released and fixes a lot of the bugs that are making the servers so unstable..

I was reading the dev boards, looks like they are going to have version 1.23 up around the 26th. Hope that means I can get started with a character on here!!!
