View Full Version : Aidden, a few more slight requests (a couple spoilers)

Just a couple things I"ve noticed lately.

1) could you possibly decrease the DC for finding the RC door? My character has 2 points in search and +2 from int bonus and still can't find the door, which is kinda bad if I"m the first person on the server after a reset. LOL I rolled up "Search Mule" an elven rogue with search and int bonuses maxed just in case, but I'd rather not have to use up extra logins for the ICB. Of course if it's not a searchable door, then I"m an idiot and I haven't found the secret yet

2) On the entryway to the sewers, for a level 1 going down there by themselves, the very first room is a little too tough. My dr00d or a wizzie/sorc who has a familiar can clean up in there, but for people starting right out, they'll get oneshotted as soon as they zone in. I was hunting with Kintare today, and her level 1 bard with 6hp would get killed immediately if I didn't clean the way in first with my pet. Is there any way to make that first room in the sewer spawn it's mobs further away from the door so that people starting out don't get bumrushed immediately? As it stands, there is often 2 orcs (1 usually a monk) right at the door when you first go in.

3) Same place, the pathing there is really brutal trying to get out of the entryway. Is there anything that can be done?

4) Pets can't seem to make it through the secret door into the sewer proper. As it stands, I have to go in, kill whatever's there by myself, take the secret door, and then summon my pet.

1. I can lower it a bit, but it is supposed to be hard to find. I will play with it a little test with a similar config as you.

Also you mentioned if you are the first down there its a problem, are you implying that if someone else has found the door, that it remains visable?
it should nto remain visable, My understanding is that 10-15 seconds it fades back away... I need a confirmation on this.

2. I while we have this down time, I will take the time do do a very thorough clean up of the sewers.I also plan on makinga msall forest area jsut outside the city to get level 1's to at least level 2.. I hope you all like roast badger and venison
Also The sewer entrance has changed slightly, you zone into a safe area. Not sure if you got a chance to see that last night..

3. Pathing I cannot help, but I currently have the spanws set to go ahead and roam around a few minutes from thier spawn locations. I can minimize that around the entrance..

4. Cant help ya with the pets...But optimization should allow yu to succesfully enter befroe requiring a pet.

Woods??

Man, that makes NO sense.

Just make ratmen in the sewers with the stats of your average kobald.

Full challange rating 1 orcs are way 2 much for level 1 players solo.

Or if your gonna add a woody area, make it the "City Park".

Leaving the city is no fun.

What you REALLY need is non combat quests for XP. Like delivering mail. Or stealing a specific item from a house. Or killing some level 1 guy at the docks or something.

Unless I was really lucky with following people through, it's always visible after the first person goes through it. LOL that's the only reason I foudn it the first time.

And I honestly don't mind it being hard to find, just so long as there's something to do that's not attached to the RC. Other than wandering around and looting all the various and sundry boxes around town (don't steal from the other customers hmpf!), there's nothing to do for someone who can't get into the sewers

The problem is you cant mix tilesets, so unfortunately a park is nto possible within town...

Do you zone slow or something?? Why do you not like leaving town? It would be right outside the town gate..

Leaving the city is great. Bigger = Better in my opinion. I've completely abandoned the single player game in favor of the Safehouse thang and PvP'ing in the Contest of Champions thang. I'm really enjoying it.

Nimm I played a hardcore old-school badass rogue for 3and a half years and all I got was this lousy sig

If you do make a woods area, it would be cool if it was made to solo in. The sewers are dangerous for solo rogues, and the ship too....it would be neat if the woods had spread out spawns so a rogue could practice sneaking, assasinationg, and trap laying...Hopefully there will be content for level 4-5 characters too, hehe.

Its simply an aesthetic choice. I pictured the Safehouse being an urban experience. If I wanted to run around in the woods I'd download some druids campaign.

I know you can't mix tileset. Just add one of those big city sectional gates. Then add your tiny forest zone. Adding a sign that says, <Cityname> City Park

Then you can have your animals and maybe some really weak muggers(it IS a city park).

You will be able to safely hunt at level 1 in both the sewer ( upper) and the forest.. If you dont want to leave town, dont..
