View Full Version : Low level imperial agent strategies

I'm having a bit of difficulty finding the usefulness of some of my Imperial Agent skills. I mean, I'm only level 8 but I find myself barely even touching half my skills. I pretty much always start in cover and remain in cover the entire fight, typically throwing grenades and sniping or using the probe droid (? the thing that you put on an enemy and it deals massive damage next time that enemy is hit) when it refreshes.

If they get up close and personal they're usually almost dead and one or two hits from my blaster finish them off. I never use flash bang (such a short range) or the melee close attack. Even the long distance poison dart has limited use because fights don't last long enough for it to matter... and I'm not sure if it works on machines or not.

Would anyone share their strategy or combos they find work nicely? Do the close attacks come in handy later on? I always buy the upgrades and new skills every level because they're so cheap.

The melee attacks are for one of the ACs. If you go Sniper you're not going to use them, but the other healer AC uses stealth + melee range crap.

Okay, this is my opinion, coming from a (currently) level 32 sniper.

Sure, at the first few levels, you won't need all of your skills. But you get few new abilities but lots of upgrades, and some get useful later.

Flash is a crowd control tool - you'll need it later. Nice to flash the tough mob while you burn a regular one so that you can focus on the elite+ after that.

The close combat stuff is nice if there's a mob close to you, they are instant and dont require much/any energy and deal a lot of damange. Later on, you get mobs that charge you often enough, Delibitate + Eviscarete + Cover Pulse (pushes them away) is a mean combo :p

The DoT-dart works on anything I have encountered yet. Even droid (unless I kept not seeing some kind of message saying otherwise until now).

For all your agent/sniper questions, I really URGE you to read this blog from start to end: http://swtorsniper.blogspot.com/
TONs of useful info there.

This is the toon I picked too. I'm only level 11 right now but to be honest this class hasn't really grabbed me yet. I'll take it to 20 and if I'm not hooked by that time I'll switch. My damage output just seems low. I figured I would like this toon, because I love sniping in other games. I don't seem to be getting the point, click, headshot/die satisfaction I was looking for. :)
