View Full Version : VP Key Mystery

In an effort to finish a few VP keys in the guild someone stumbled across a key selling in the bazaar called "Key to Veeshan's Peak." This key was droppable, not magic and not lore.

The original quest result is called "Key of Veeshan." We thought maybe they changed the key recently to be droppable which would be wonderful... however we finished a key tonight and it was still the old "Key of Veeshan" which is NO DROP.

There are two seperate entries on Lucy for both keys.

Does anyone know if this droppable key is in fact a Key to VP and if so, where does it come from? Or was someone just trying to rip 200k off by selling this fake key in Bazaar.

Any insight would be appreciated!

It is possibly the key to 8th island of PoA which is also called Key of Veeshan if I remember correctly.

uh ? i don't think so, when you zone out of PoAir, all your keys disapear from your inventory.
unless there is a bug, it should still be the case

Keys from poa remain with you now, it's been this way for some time now.

Veeshan's key is the key for Plane of Sky and it is no drop.
No clue what that tradeable key is.

There's also a "Key to Sebilis" and a "Key to Charasis" in the item db directly before that tradable VP key.

Key to Sebilis != Trakanon Idol, btw. The Trak Idol is back near the no drop VP key.

If I had to hazard a guess, I would guess that the tradable "Key to Veeshan's Peak" was a result of the loot table bugs from the first few days of Kunark. Lots of weird stuff was dropping in places it shouldn't have.

A GM probably reimbursed someone's key when their /keyring got wiped and gave them a droppable one by mistake.

Just a shot in the dark, but maybe those are the Firiona Vie server versions of the keys? I don't play on FV so this is only a guess.

Nope, FV versions are the same items as in all servers just with the NODROP flag removed. We have the Trakanon Idol to get into seb, etc.
So still no clue what that item is.

I had one of those, it was a 'placeholder key' for the real VP key that a GM gave a guy.

Didn't work to get into VP though. I put it up on a trader for fun, to see what kinda tell's I'd get :P

This was on Druzzil Ro.

aye, I finished my VP key day before yesterday...it's the same as it has always been. Glad to be done with that quest. The real question is: Is it safe to zone in or will I have to have escape upon zoning. Anything have the chance of seeing through SoS?

I have zoned in a few times without being attacked but Ive seen others posted that say the zone in is not 100% safe, just very close to it. I also ran all around (twice now) and nothing has seen me in SoS though I have also heard that there are some things that can.

A wanderering wurm paths near the zone in, but afaik he's never seen invis. If you have a tiny cloak, invis potion, or other form of zoneable invisibility, you should be just fine. I've never got aggro zoning in visible in about 25 trips to VP though.

Yah you can zone in 100% safely if your invised. You will be fine. Just run back down to the little piece of land that runs into the lava and from there you can safely got uninvis and afk.

Don't be so sure.

I zoned into VP invis once and was dead before i finished loading, there were 2 wurms stuck (bugged) on the zone in pad, and one saw invis (no idea if he could see SoS since i'm a druid)

Managed to zone in naked and invis and run off fast enough to drag my corpse out of agro range and loot up, but that kinda killed me and a bard's plans for duoing up some loot

i had one entrance mob give me the "warning" while SOS.

2 wurms on the zone in pad isn't a bug.

What you got was the result of someone pulling wurms to zone to solo them.

Some Guardian Wurms split upon death into two wurms.

Since their spawn point is where the first wurm died, they stay at that point unless they're trained away.

This is why, if you're soloing Gwurms, you kill them a little ways away from zone in.
