RZ(banish not asking for strat/details)

Okay so my guild took our first shot at him last night, we did great and lost but came close on real, we have a general idea of what to expect now and will win soon, that is not the problem, here is my problem;


Rz says some bs in my "other" window about not decieiving him

run back, lev, invis this time, he's 100% now.. but uh oh he saw me again, banished...

You are caught in a torrent of fire. You have taken 653 points of damage.

i'm 99% buffer in 65 so I could give two @#%$ about the exp loss(I got rezzed after anyway), but WTF, I thought this banish was for people not in your raid? Are you not allowed to reenter pit when you die or what, some clarification on this would be nice, if not I'll just get more summons in sky tonight, corpses aren't a problem

Those banishes are for Z-axis exploits. If you are too far above or below (theoretically anyway) RZtW he will port you to those insta death locations. If you are merely outside the raid he'll just port you to PoK. So were you healing or nuking from the ledge? Or maybe you were trying to drop down on top of him and he aggroed you before you hit the floor. Either way, if you are out of a certain Z-axis range in relation to him and on his aggro list, you will get banished to those locations.

I remember getting banished to PoSky when i was in raid and was training the zone out after RZ death, was time to take advantage of the shared bank space and make an Etrudite alt for some sky port stones

So if I drop into a corner not ontop of him then he doesnt banish to death?

That would be correct. Stay out of his aggro bubble until you're on the floor of the pit and you should have no problem, barring the raid aggro issue.

One of our enchanters died, and yes he was IN the raid, and on re-entering Plane of Tactics he got insta-ported to PoSky.

Yes he was IN the raid, and yes he BARELY entered PoTactics.

He was nowhere near Rallos Zek or even close to the pit. He was at zone in.

A friendly neighbourhood GM gave him a 100% res and told him it was indeed a bug and should not have happened.

Did they fix it though? No.

Sometime about 6 months ago they screwed up the rampage and flurry code. That could have something to do with what happened. RZ is AE rampage, right? But he could have an actual rampage list anyway, and you don't drop off that list by zoning, so a player who is on it and zones back in may get aggro and thus teleported. If that is the case, it would take a revamp of all that code to fix it, and they obviously haven't cared to fix what they jumbled up so long ago.
