Apparently, Moises Alou has found a surefire way (http://www.jimrome.com/archives/05052004/article/article_2.html) to prevent callouses.
Moises Alou has a special way of hardening his hands so he doesn’t get blisters from swinging a baseball bat. Alou is one of only a handful of players in the Major Leagues who does not wear batting gloves. So he has developed a home therapy that helps the calluses on his hands stay hard. He urinates on them.
If someone can find the Gary Miller story, I would appreciate it. I'd like to see the original story. A search on ESPN only got me some fantasy baseball articles.
