"Mint, mint, mint." Minz muttered in disgust. His nerves were a jangle. It wasn't every day that one got married "What the brell does mint look like? ORRI!?" Minz yelled in exasperation "WHAT DOES MINT LOOK LIKE? IT'S A LITTLE RED AND WHHTE SWIRLY PLANT, RIGHT?" His bride looked at him incredulously. Striding over, shaking her head. "Whhaat?" Minz saw Kaelee whisper into Stiehle's ear and the two burst out laughing.
His beautiful ranger walked right up to him, placing her hands on his waist and rolling her eyes. "Honey, have you ever seen mint?"
"Well sure!" Minz said, his confidence of the answer fading by the millisecond. "It's about so big," he held his hands about 6 inches apart. "And it's got a hard stem that is swirled red and white and it bends like so at the top. We used to get . . . them . . . all . . . the . . . time?"
Orrianna's face had become redder and redder as he described the mint he knew. Her lips curled up, and finally she burst into laughter, doubling over, holding on to his shoulder as the laughs rolled out of her in a seemingly unending torrent. "Oohh Minz," said gasping for breath. "I love you . . . don't ever change."
"That's not mint?" the rogue asked meekly.
Orri just laughed harder. "Yes dear, but a mint PLANT is different."
"Oooh. Uhhmm, what do they look like?" Minz asked. Orri fell over, rolling on the ground as her body shook with laughter. Tears rolled down her face. "Miinz . . . you're . . . standing in it." Heat and embarrassment rose to his face. 'Standing in it?' he though. The rogue looked down to see a plant. It looked like any other plant he'd seen. 'This is just some weed? Where's the red and white?' "Yes Trouble that's the one," Orri said giggling profusely. Grouchily he swiped a sprig and put it in his mouth.
"Well I like the OTHER kind BETTER!" he said, pouting at his bride laughing at him. Stomping back to his two - still laughing as well - companions. Shoulders hunched. Embarrassed beyond belief. Orri ran up behind him and threw her arms about his shoulders, planting a wet kiss on his cheek.
"Don't get like that trouble," she said plaintively, trying hard to hold back more giggles. Minz couldn't help snickering. Her smile was infectious, and her giggling an absolute joy in his ears. The tittering of her giggles took him back the short time, when they first came here.
She had tended his wounds, both physically and emotionally. She gave unflinchingly of herself. And the sight of her in the tub. Her leg draped lazily over the edge. Long chestnut hair slicked back, bubbles kissing her shoulders. He was hers from that moment on. He loved her. Heart and soul. They had declared their love that night, and were bound together with ties stronger than any cut asunder.
And this eve they would be husband and wife. Here in the place where he fell in love with her. The woods seemed anxious with anticipation. Birds sang sweetly in the air, even the breeze seemed some how blissful tonight. Small patches of violets and lily of the valley perfumed decorated their cathedral. Lilacs sent their incense wafting about them. Bixies dallied about, as if they knew one of their own was to be wed tonight.
His heart raced. HE was getting MARRIED! 'What if I forget what to say,' he thought. 'What about his guildmates. They would clearly be disappointed.' He thrust all those thoughts out of his mind. 'All that matters is we're here. And we'll be married tonight.'
"Nervous love?" he whispered.
"Gods yes. You?" she replied.
Minz nodded earnestly, holding his shaking hands out for Orri to see. "Just a bit." They giggled as he, his bride, best man and mother of the bride strolled the short distance to the spot they'd picked out.
"Love you," he whispered.
"Love you too," she whispered back.
They stood before the Inn, facing each other. Orrianna's eyes shimmered. Her cheeks were rosy, flushed with the excitement of the moment. She was a vision of beauty. Everything around him seemed to fade in her presence. The sun had set and a waxing moon cast a soft glow about them. He could feel his heart pounding hard in his chest and quiet seemed to spread about the woods.
The two held each other's hands.
"As Erollisi has blessed and bound us, so I bind myself to thee - heart, body and soul.
I offer myself to you, Orrianna as your husband, and ask you to be my wife"
Minz took the slender band he'd been carrying. 'Don't drop it! Just don't drop it.' he thought. But his hands knew what to do, and they deftly slipped it on Orrianna's finger.
A gift from the Goddess Donnu. The moonlight made it glitter on Orri's slender hand. The rogue didn't quite understand, but he knew it was a gift so precious. Given by one who rarely gives such gifts. And even rarer that a man would be the recipient. Second only to Orrianna's love. Forged in fires unknown to any living soul. Shaped with love. Tempered in the cool strength of the soul of all women. Imbued with strength.
"As Erollisi has blessed and bound us, so I bind myself to thee - heart, body and soul.
I offer myself to you, Minz as your wife and accept you as my husband."
Orri slipped a similar band in to his finger. The ring tingled on his finger. Yet it felt as it if it belonged there. As if it had always belonged there. Orri had told him only that a child was coming. A child of the Goddess, and that she was bound to protect and care for this child. It made little sense to the him. But his wife and love understood. She believed and had pledged herself to the child. And so, would also. The thief would honor this pledge with his life if necessary.
Minz pulled Orri into his arms and they kissed for the first time as husband and wife. Their lips met, in a soft jubilant kiss. The butterflies in his stomach were gone. A thrill swept over him as he held his love close. If he Kaelee and Stiehle hadn't been there they could have kissed like that till the sun came up.
Stiehle let out a loud boisterous cheer, and Kaelee cried happily.

"ORRI!! You mean I have to give back his wallet AND his money???!"
