Speccing an assassin without Envenom

As the subject says, I'm not real hot on Envenom. I'm thinking of speccing an infiltrator thusly:

50 Slash
40 Stealth
39 CS
39 DW
10 Envenom

Questions: Do the very low level poisons land on higher level players as reliably as the high level poisons? How would an all-melee assassin fare soloing?

I'm waiting for a buddy of mine to upgrade his computer and buy DAoC to roll up this character, so I've got a good amount of time to mull over various specs. Any thoughts?

I currently have 11 envenom at lvl 40 and only use it to stop archers from speeding away, and casters from casting. poison resist is based on your level vs victims level, so yes, it hits reliably. Dither Disgustipated

That's what I thought, just wanted to make sure. I'm not -real- worried about the solo ability of an all-melee infil, just more curious than anything.
