Will poison proc if current envenom skill is lower?

If you raise your envenom skill by equiping some + envenom items, then coat your weapons poison...and then swap out the + envenom items for other equipment...will the poison (that is now higher then your current operating envenom skill) still proc on the enemy?

Yes it works, and this is how you can poison someone else's weapon if you can equip it, and give it back to them so they can use it. It may get changed though, since the team leaders seem to think it's a problem.
