Duels gone wrong. (Long)

This guy got me so mad I just have to vent some place. I was in high pass with a friend of mine killing orcs. This necromancer with an ego starts spouting insults at my pal and me, then proceeds and issues a duel challenge. I ask him what his rules are if he has any. His reply was there can be no outside buffs. I tell him ok and my rule is if you summon a pet and/or buff you can't meditate and regain the mana you lose before the fight. Right before we zone to the forest I noticed a druid cast a spell on him. We both zoned and I planned on looking at my chat log to see what it was. I went linkdead zoning so I have no idea what was cast on him. When I come back he summons a pet, puts on 6 buffs(Probably more while I was link dead), summons a pet, then sits down and starts to meditate. This guy is also decked out in gear and was bragging about having around 237 int. This irritated me very much. Finally when he says he is full mana I ask him politely if he would run about 3 seconds with his pet following him. He objects at least 20 times and threatens so leave if I do not challenge him to a duel. I explain to him that I think he has a sow and would just like to see him run with his pet for a small distance then switch to walk mode and come back to me. He gets flustered and spouts more insults at me. Then he says he has J-boots so it is not an outside buff. I ask him to activate the effect in front of me or put the boots on so I can inspect. He again objects and starts calling me names. Finally after 5 more minutes of hearing him argue he runs and walks with his pet in tow. Then he turns and tells me to challenge him now. I ask him to challenge me first because he summoned a pet, put on all his buffs, is decked out in 50 gear, meditated to full mana, and last of all is higher level than me. After 10 more minutes of him cussing at me and spamming the zone he goes back into high pass and insults me some more.
I wanted to duel this guy so bad. I had my pumice stone ready to dispel all his dots. At level 18 the only (hard hitting) dots he can cast on me are Heart Flutter, Blood Boil, Engulfing Darkness, and Leach. All these dots are magic based and his only other way of dealing damage is a highly mana inefficient lifetap that does around 40 damage. Has anyone had a worse encounter than this?

Actually I did, it is listed in " rogueish duel". Only thing is, I won, but through trickery. Eh, what goods a guilty consiounce gonna do me. Well, anyway one question, how exactly do u get pumice stone? just curious. Well I met with him later and challenged him to a duel in High Pass. He summoned his best pet and put on all his buffs and then other people buffed him so he had at least 700 hp. He accepted duel and we started fighting. His pet was doing no damage to me and he couldn't get a spell off. But my hp was dropping fast from his damage shield. I got in 4 backstabs which brought him down to around half health with all my other hits. I was around half hp at the time from his damage shield so I took off with his pet on my tail and found a guard Guard killed pet then went for him. Then I made sure to get the final hit with a backstab so it would broadcast throughout the zone

The guards will kill a pet or a charmed MoB if it is attacking another PC. That wa a good strategy. Did you use the pumice stone to kill his DMG shield? That would have been a great help.

i'm not sure but i think pumice stones can't dispell other people unless they are in your group. but you do have a good point tann.
