Dont just say the one who holds aggro......Mine is a Shadowknight personally.....I hate Pally tanks because of that throw around stun crap...And some warriors (I havent grouped with many since they revamped them) couldnt keep aggro off me...Lots of pingponging going on here when I evaded or delayed my attack......SK just seems like a perfect fit to me...So perfect in fact I leveled a SK alt to 65 just recently =)

I am a bit biased.. but I have always preferred a warrior.

Pallies. Stun, Heal, Root, Pacify, Rezz, LoH and HP/AC Buffs are as powerful as it gets for "bonus" abilities.

Far, far too much to trade for Fear, Snare, FD and a a bit more DPS or /disc defensive. Your Sister in Arms,

When I'm playing the Cleric I prefer a Warrior, no doubt about it.

The same goes for my Rogue, but I've always found it fairly easy to adjust to the tank's ability to maintain aggro.

I guess im just biased toward SK's perhaps =)

With that said...Its kinda rare to see an awesome Shadowknight when compared to awesome Paladins and Warriors....Seems like the SK class in general AT lvl 65 is kinda rare in itself....The one time my Rogue grouped w/ a PoTime/EP equipped SK..I was like....Screw Paladins and Warriors...THIS is what I like....So I made my SK alt not soon afterwards......But I always liked the SK class until then anyway.

I've always preferred warriors, even before the disciplines when they had a hard time with aggro. I've never really had the problems with aggro that folks complain about, and have always been of the opinion that when a tank loses aggro, it's as much the person who "steals" it as the tank's.

Pally/SK aggro holding ability was just a crutch for casters that didn't understand the concept of overnuking, slowers that hit the mob on incoming, and monks/rogues that didn't FD/Evade respectively.

I'll take a few extra hits with a warr tank, sure, but their defensive disc and extra hp (all else equal) usually made them better able to handle things that went badly.

I am biased towards the Shadowknight as my husband plays one. In my experience however I get less pingpong, and a more steady mob to backstab from a SK than a Pally, my second choice would be a warrior.

ALways prefered Sk, Pal and wars who know what the f they are doing. I grouped with share of inept baka.

Whichever tank lives long enough for me to CHeal without having to scrimp for mana and doesn't let people die because they are teh suck when it comes to holding agro (especially on multiple mob situations).

Hell, I can even be a decent tank in LDoN when needed (seriously)...its more a matter of skill than of class. Higar Mettlebender

I prefer the SK to tank plus easier single pulls. Plus with their self buffs most can get a bit more AC than Paladins. Derrict Thealcoholic - Nameless Server

Here's a strange suggestion - Shaman. With a regen on them, they do alright. Timing is critical though.

That being said, my favorite is based more on necessity and personal preference rather than practicality, main partner was a Shaman.

How could you possibly say Sherman?

As one of the great German Tiger commanders once said:
One Tiger could outdo 4 sherman's, the only problem was the Americans always had 6.

Shadowknight's are my personal favorite. I can count on him to always get snare landed, and the dot's and attack buffs. He 3 Boxes and always uses Mez Messages, it drives me NUTS when other Enchanters don't use them. Your Panty Raider in Arms,

Personally, I will take any of the three - as long as they have a brain. I am sorry to say, that about 80% of the warrior tanks I have come across, are brainless. My main is a Pally (8878hp/1650AC - 242 AA), and he can tank and hold agro on just about any mob, short of pop bosses.
All that aside, all three classes, when played well, make great tanks/agro holders.

Whoa there! Sorry but yer sig file size is quite a bit over the file size limit. Check our Forum Rules Edited by: Fricka at: 1/9/04 1:01 pm

I agree with Fricka on the shaman...I duoed with a shaman all the way up to about level 40 (slows and dots are some SERIOUS aggro.) At level 65 in zones like BoT shamans are not really feasible as tanks though. I have to say a good warrior (esp one that knows how to use /shield for the clr/enc/shm) makes the top of my list anyday as favorite tank.

Panzer 6, aka the Tiger tank. Despite the awesomeness of the Tiger (I and II) series tanks, they were never heavily produced and, as many say, were a logistical nightmare for the German Wehrmact due to their size and sluggish speed. On top of that, Hitler often wanted them used as offensive units where they should have been used for defensive reasons and suffered poorly because of it.

Oh, you were talking about EverQuest! :P

Definitely Warrior, but I'm biased. I play a Warrior. -Eriatha Egan
