I bet it'll still be the 7th (the following Friday) when I can get the box from my local games stores, because "the UK only releases games on a Friday". Bah, humbug!

Ubi Soft is just a distributor, a middle man. Verant sells directly to them so they don't have to set up their own sales network in Europe.

Games releases are always done on a Friday in the UK. No exceptions. I imagine UK players will be waiting another 5 days for the expansion to hit the shelves.

Not that I care, I don't play EQ any more Join the Buro today!

I wish anime companies would stop giving fans the shaft and do worldwide simultaneous releases. *chuckle*

If verant is able to release games to ubisoft far enough in advance that it can be relesed near the 3rd deadline, then why cant they sell it to everyone before the third, so that onn the third, they can patch and make SOL available to the poeple that have had it for a few days. Released on the 3rd and shipped on the third sucks because the people the pre-ordered the game get shafted over the people that camp bestbuy all night.

Ubisoft are also the ones who use that Safedisk technology which is known to go CLUNK in some CD drives.... Pool of Radiance took a huge hit below the belt in part due to this.

DUB!? Why not just run the disc through a woodchipper and sent it parcel-post? Seriously - most dubs really bite. There are a few good ones out there, but by and large they lack the style and expression of the original Japanese.

Besides, I'd rather hear it in English than American (ie why american voice actors?).

Oh, and, um, I can't wait for SoL. Rah rah! (that's enough ontopic content, right? Right? /sigh) Shariin Shadowblade House of Kindred Blackguard

Bah! Whats wrong with dubbing? There are alot of really nice dubs out there, unfortunately there are also alot of half assed ones too but a good dub beats a subbed any day! "I'm short. I'm cute. I got a potbelly, and I poke things! What more in life could ye possibly ask for?"--Snibbs Quickinshot

Bah. Dubs suck ass. Universally. There are two exceptions, for humour value alone - Golden Boy and Shinesman. Golden Boy because they found such a hilarious guy to do Kintaro and Shinesman because they decided to completely change around what the character said until the show was a parody of sentai shows. Like a warped fandub.

Dubs never get their stresses and syntax right, for several reasons. One is they never hire anyone with a shred of talent. The second is that Japanese and English hardly ever translate directly. The third being that anime isn't American and never should be, so putting it in English always seems somehow wrong even when the voice-actors actually understand the situation of the characters they portray for once.

Anyway, speed isn't much of an issue for me. I find my digisubs on DC usually within a week or two of Japanese release. I love the Intarweb.

Oh yeah, it's nice they made that decision with SoL. Hope it becomes a trend for more gaming companies. Raxee L'Noamuth, 53rd season Rakess of Fennin Ro
