View Full Version : Considering bagging epic...

Hey all. I have a question now. I am currently using a Wicked Shank in mainhand and my RB in offhand and it's been great thus far. Only one death associated with the DoT and escape in ToV just once but after that never happened again. I am getting close to obtaining my Malevolent Dirk of Deception and I know it won't take me long now to get my +2 dmg aug for it to make it a 16/19. I was strongly considering putting the MDoD into main hand and moving Wicked Shank to offhand. According to my magelo my attack isn't nearly what it should be so I plan to either get the slot 7 vengeance III aug (if I didin't misread that) and put it into my ornate chain armor, or get my LDoN armor slowly and put a vengeance III on each.

Now my main question is, what would be good to get for haste to replace the haste from the epic? My guild is a teir 4 guild now but I am not sure what to get. Financially, I have about 76k in my bank. Any suggestions on good haste gear I could get that wouldn't downgrade any of my current equipment too much?

Or perhaps do you guys think that I shouldn't bag epic yet and just stay with Shank/RB or MDoD/Epic?

Yeli is generally uncontested (depends on whos who on your server and whats what surely though). He always drops a quest turn in head for 41% haste gaunts.

ALWAYS.
he also always drops a 41% haste neck but thats general ignored cause it gets turned in for a ST key.

Yeli isnt much harder then the WTOV named dragons (lendi etc). You do need to figure out the coth and have a cother on dragon faction though.

If your guild can do those I would start chain nailing yeli. Thats what we did and lots of us sport the 41% haste guants.

If your not ready for yeli yet hopefully you will be soon.
As far as buying a good haste item I dunno. Dont go far from rage till you win a good drop =)

When you bag your epic dont forget you not only lose the haste but ya lose the epic attack too (40ish). Unless your satisfied with the worn attack items you have and have the 41% haste item I wouldn't bag your epic yet . . . . But thats just me. Join me and we shall rule the world

Clear a few things up..

1) Yelinak is a GUARANTEED two 41% haste items.. the necklace which can *also* be used for a Sleeper's Tomb key, as well as his head, which when quested, gives you the Gauntlets of Dragon Slaying (arguable the best gloves in all of Velious, the other would be Do`Vassir's Gauntlets of Might).

2) Seething Fury from Ragebringer provides 40% haste, 40 attack (aka Vengence 8), and 9 AC (whoopee). It's great if you get a 36% haste item, but just know you're swapping out 10 to all your melee stats except Strangth which is 20, a total of 50 saves, and 100 hitpoints.

I don't honestly ever see wanting to bank or destroy my epic in any way.. it always has situational use. Until I have 150? attack cap, 2 weapons that do not have DoT's or over agro procs, etc.. I'll always keep my Ragebringer near me.

i agree with the "keep epic" thing. the LDoN dagger should of course go in primary. as far as putting the shank if offhand, it would be a dps upgrade but not much of one. id rather have the ability to survive in any situation then have that little bit more dps. of course that would be situational. in ldon groups or any situation where there is no chance of a wipe and i have decent attack due to buffs i'd prolly toss in the shank.

I use the MDoD/Wicked combo as my money combo. The wicked also brings +3% backstab over mdod along with its much better then epic ratio.

Nah, I would never destroy my epic either. You all have good points too and I gave this issue some deep thought. I will keep my RB with me and switch off depending on ho wmy attack looks like after fully buffed for exp group or raid. I will definitely though try to get vengeance III augs for my armor as quickly as possible and my guild is starting to enter ST too so maybe I can get my hands on a Primal weapon.

Everyone with an ST key eventually gets a primal.

Reason?
More primals drop in a week then ST keys so other then coincidence there is no competition from rival guilds.

Its extremely helpful though if you have a coth bot.
